Solscud007 from tfw2005.com has posted two very interesting and awesome images. The images are scans from the Japanese Transformers Generations vol1 book. The interesting thing about these images is that it shows us the rumoured Classics deluxe class Optimus Prime that was never released.

because voyager size toys makes more money for hasbro and with a similar deluxe design, they are giving their voyager sized prime some competition in the market. and because prime is a "must buy" other people would settle on just buying the smaller sized toy to save money. So by not releasing the deluxe, all the payments they get are voyager prices!($_$)...they released the crappy one instead...just IMO

i wonder if there is a deluxe megatron with voyager design.

I had no clue this even existed. Wish we got em. Should've been part of a two or three pack. That way hasbro wouldnt have needed to worry about losing money. Oh and the Helicopter Prime mentioned above is the Prime from the Classics Megatron Vs Prime 2 pack that came with a DVD.

The deluxe Prime we got had a punching action which involved him spinning around his chest wildly; thus helicopter.

Nice, about the only difference I can see is the simplified knee structure on the Deluxe.

I guess you don't know what the "2-pack prime" is referring to. No, it's not the 2 optimus primes in the background of this picture. There was never such 2-pack. The 2-pack that the previous posters were referring to is the classics deluxe 2-pack with a fugly green megatron (that turns into a tank) and a pathetic looking prime with a wide-eye confused look. Look it up and you'll know why they suck so bad.

And yet, in several of the other lines in recent years we get a crap-load of various sizes or recolors that are pretty much the same thing for the Movie line and so fort. There were HOW many versions of both Leader and Voyager size Prime released? I know he's awesome and popular, but still...
Armada is excluded from this rant, because Bendimus Prime is awesome enough to make up for it, and I'm not a big fan of the autoforming trailerbasepants anyways.

I hate it when I have to quote myself for people who don't read the whole thread

The helicopter Prime is forgivably in scale with G1 Grapple, G1 Inferno, and the legends like G1 Legends Jazz, Hound and all them, so I keep my HP in alt mode next to those guys [with the little Luke Skywalker that came with my StarWars transformers which is a human in scale with the previously mentioned figs =D]. I'm actually doing some cleaning/reorganizing and Ill put up some pics to show what I mean.
If this thing does come out though, Im sure he's roughly the same scale so it'd be awesome to have a bot mode Prime that's in scale with what I mentioned above =P
Right now my classics voyager Prime is standing next to G1 Ultra Magnus and the autobots that are to scale with that.

i wasnt talking about that after my edit, secondly i know what their on about ive got the set, and i dont know whats wrong with em, the megatron is one of my favourites and the prime wasnt that all bad in truck mode, the bot mode was great.

I think it would have been pretty sweet if Ultra Magnus had been released in this size, then with a (rescaled) City Commander upgrade he would have been the same size as Voyager Prime.

I'm glad we got Classics Optimus in voyager class rather than deluxe.
And I'm quite happy with the 2 pack deluxe Optimus we did get, love the headsculpt, and I think the bot mode proportions are much better.
Truck mode needed some work, I'll give you that.

Everybody complains about Deluxe Prime, but he's not that bad. Yes his truck mode sucks, but he has a great robot mode, and a awesome looking gun to make up for that. and unlike Megatron, the spinning gimmick doesn't actually hinder the figure since it can be locked.
Megatron's arm on the other hand will just keep popping off
Anyway, while the mold looks good in Deluxe size, I think it works much better as a Voyager.
I did notice the similarity in the kneecaps of this deluxe Prime and Helicopter Prime.

Can It? How? I wedged a piece of card in the back.
I love the way the delux looks in bot mode, and he is so poseable.

Yes it can, just pull the black tab on his back out until it locks or clicks. This locks the spinning mechanism.

Is it made to do that? I wanna make sure I'm not breaking it before I do it.

Yes its meant to do that. You don't need to pull it hard. It notches and locks the gimmick in place, giving you a poseable ratcheting torso joint.
Just pull it out slightly until it clicks.
