I would have to say either
G1 Optimus Prime or G1 Megatron!
There are so many others of my collection that I could choose, but these two come to mind first thing.

I don't think you read the question well...

Hard to say, I don't think I could break it down to a $20.00 question. However, if I had to loose most of my collection and only keep one or two figs, that's another story...

Obviously tfs are way to expensive in eire, so for that much i'd have to say....eh....Wheelie?
If i had to pick any one toy to keep id pick Mp-01 or Magnaboss.
So for ur price range Magnaboss (could i get him for $20?)

told you guys this is a tough Q.
I see some of you modified the Q. to
if you could only keep 1 from your collection.
VP is cool cause he comes with safeguard.
I think you can say similar stuff about Soundwave.

That's a mightly tight price range. I think I'd have to go with classics Bumblebee or maybe Revoltech Megatron. The Classic Voyagers are too expensive for this question aren't they? Alternators are definitely out of the question?

Are we talking MSRP or with sales tax?
Anyway, I got a 20th Anni Optimus Prime (not the DVD one, the first release) in a lot off of eBay for 18 bucks, including shipping (loose complete, listed in G.I.Joe, so I snagged it) so I'd pick him.

Easy pickings, Alt Smokescreen, got my collection started, haven't regretted it once. And if I go with the two for one TRU package I can say he was only 10 bucks and include G1 Beachcomber too.

let's say "roughly" $20.
so at least here in the US, Voyager class is good.
Vector Prime, Classics Meg, all golden.
I'd recommend classics mini-con sets.
you can buy 3 sets for roughly $21 that will come with
9 bots!
I think they did a great job with those.

My choice would be Alternators Grimlock.
Complex transformation, Menacing looking character, plus it is Grimlock nuff said true believers

I have trouble with US prices.
So you say Voyager and Alternators are okay?
I'd have to go then with either Alt. Tracks or Shockwave, or Voyager Jetfire.

That's not a fair question...the only toys i own that could be picked up for $20 or less are the classics titaniums protopime and legends 4pack...and none of those would be my first choice.
i like my G1's and BT's ...

Oh Lord. You have made me:
1.Stimulate my brain. This happens rarely.
2.Mad & sad at the same time.
3.Go look at my collection.
4.Look at my G1's & realize they're all gone.
5.Same as 4 except it involves the MPs'.
6.Annoyed.
W/that being said, I would keep Titanium RID Prime & Titanium Predaking. That's it.
(Woohoo, post #2500)

I think it just makes people look at their collection
in a different way.
imagine your a CEO of your TF toys & you have to cut costs.
or help a close friend start a mini collection
who has a VERY limited budget.
what are the essentials in your collection?
which ones are a MUST have, which ones could you donate
if you HAD to?

If I had to keep it to one figure, it would be 20th Prime.
If I had to keep it to $20, it would be the UM/Skywarp Classics 2-pack.

Your question is kind of unfair. But...I'd say Classics Optimus
Prime.
