Landslide Appreciation

I bought the Kabushi/Landslide cybertron 2 pack on a whim and Landslide is one of the most fun TFs I've ever had...
An Autobot saw is such a bizarre choice, it's probably some repaint im unaware of, but anyways, a saw is amazing, and from the looks of it, seems like maybe an alt could hold him as a weapon? or the MP Prime.
It has such a genius transformation and when you move it the saw turns, which totally blew my mind because I had no idea of that feature...
BASK IN THE GLORY THAT IS LANDSLIDE
Alt

Robot

So stocky

You're right, by minicon standards he's pretty good. He's got half decent aticulation, a nice looking robot mode and an... interesing alt mode.
I got the Armada version, must hook him up to my gf buzzsaw oneday for some of that trigger activated sawing action.

It is indeed a repaint. Originally it was part of an Armada mini-con set. The set was neat because they could all attach on the bottom of Cyclonus (from Armada) and when you pulled a trigger it would turn part of the Mini-con. If you don't have a cyclonus I would look into getting one, it's not the greatest toy ever, but it is fun (especially with the mini-con gimmick)

In all fairness, Cyclonus is the living embodyment of Armada. A very poor transformer jam packed with gimmicks.

I'd say he really wasn't that bad.
Nothing about Cyclonus is ruined by his gimmicks.
Sideswipe on the other hand...

I dont think anything was ruined per say, he just wanst a very good transformer. He was about as technologically advanced as some of the pretenders and clones and whatnot as far as transformation and hiding robot mode parts went.

I agree with Redimus. If there was one toy that would embody the entire Armada line I'd say it was Cyclonus. I like the toy, alright, so it's not like I'm just mudslinging, but it is a passable figure with gimmicks galore. Minicon activated missiles, the under the cockpit attachment spot for minis like Landslide here, and the Crumplezone/different cockpit mode.
Sideswipe was just garbage. Now I'm slinging mud.

Are there any other Cybertron 2pack Mini-Cons that are this good? My TRU is bursting with them and I'm counting on a sale really soon...
I haven't really been buying that much Cybertron stuff, but some of it is really interesting to me

I Bought the Weapon 2 packs repaints. And they are pretty Good.

The Jets can combine to from a Sword that can be held by any TF. with a standard peg hole.
And the other, transform into weapons for minicon compliant transformers. And some with standard peg holes like Checkpoint that turns into a gun.
There was also a recolor of the Armada Requiem Blaster. Which was pretty good, but i'm not sure what packages the parts came in. I think they came with the parts to from Perceptor, the Four Wheeler, the Motorcycle, and the hovercraft.

The problem I found with buying those is that the back of the packaging is fairly generic and its hard to find a card that shows the specific characters when they're transformed.
I don't want to buy one that has a decent alt mode and then transform it and end up being just the alt mode standing up.
Although that jet gimmick does sound pretty cool...

Yeah, thats what I started doing,
but isn't it funny how much research you have to do in deciding to buy a figure? I should be able to just look on the back and see if I like it or not.

Yeah its kinda strange when you buy a figure and you already know before hand how to transform it, and what gimmick it has. Also when you know what to expect from it.
It happened to me when i bought Titanium Megatron, there had been arguments over how floppy it was, and how it would fall apart. So i knew all that, but still bought it. And when i was transforming him i was just saying to myself, well its not so bad, its floppy but He still looks good.
So yeah i knew he was going to be bad , but he wasn't as bad as i thought he would be.
Still Doing the research is half the fun.

I totally agree with the research part.
Reading the reviews and making good decisions on transformers is alot of fun. TFarchive is one of my favourite places to kill time...

Jsut a note, but Landslide isn't a saw, he's a digger. Those are buckets on the spinning wheel. And yes he's a very cool little minicon.

a digger?...
that's not quite as amazing as a giant saw...
it's still a saw to me, yes, yes, a decepticon slaughtering saw that is feared throughout the galaxy.
