I know this has been done before, but lets rehash some of the basics.. this is your choice for the Best Megatron and optimus prime..but it is a little different.. these are divided into specific categories:
Please list what series they are from, and this is the "Best of" categories, not the worst so please leave those comments out.. thanks....
if you want to post the worst here is a link to that thread:
http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewto ... id=#112907As some one pointed out, there are way too many categories, so you pick the ones you want to vote for and I'll tally them all up..Best Likeness to the Cartoon/Movie, Best Articulation, Best AltMode (Beast-car-Truck),Best Face, Best Material(plasitc-Diecast), Best Bot mode, Best Weaponry, Best Combiner ability, Best gimmics( lights-sounds, ect..), Best packaging, Best paint Applications, Best in Size/Scale, Best Tech Spec, Best Unique Design, Favorite overall.
Optimus prime: If you don't own them all, just use the seibertron gallery to base your opinions on.
Optimus prime selections:
http://www.seibertron.com/toys/index.ph ... type=exactMegatron:If you don't own them all, just use the seibertron gallery to base your opinions on.
Megatron Selections:
http://www.seibertron.com/toys/index.ph ... type=exactThere's no pressure, and if you want to include the Movie Megatron/Optimus Prime, there should be no backlash..if there are megatron/Optimus prime Figures not present in the seibertron gallery, just post a link so we can see who your talking about.. after the tallies are in and this thread ends up on page 3, i'll go back and tally the votes and see who is the winner of each category..don't worry, its fun for me to know this kinda stuff, like a general consensus of whose best in each category..

I gotta say that its certainly easier for me to fill in these blanks then on the worst thread, there is so much goodness in these bots, that if looked at with an open mind, really makes them badass..

Best Articulation: MP-01/MP-04 optimus Prime
Best AltMode (Beast-car-Truck): Leader Class optimus Prime Live action Movie
Best Face: Transformers Cybertron Super mode optimus prime, the one without the mouth..
Best Material(plasitc-Diecast): Masterpiece Optimus Prime..
Best Bot mode: MP Optimus prime though i'm kinda partial to RID optimus Prime and the Movie Version..
Best Weaponry: Cybertron optimus prime, you can't beat 2 giant super energy blasters hanging off the hip or over the shoulder..
Best Combiner ability: RID optimus Prime, when he hooks up with ultra Magnus, its like the badest thing I have ever seen..
Best gimmics( lights-sounds, ect..): Armada optimus Prime, trailer automatically transfoms..
Best packaging: Mp Optimus prime, easy to remove or replace..
Best paint Applications: Kiss Players Optimus Prime
Best in Size/Scale: RID Optimus Prime

believe it or not,
I REALLY REALLY like
McDonalds Armada Meg.
-super affordable, even today
-looks good in either mode
-I like his size
-I like his gimmicks
now there are plenty of minus, but remember he is a
McDonald's toy!
and since he doesn't cost that much, you don't feel
bad if it breaks, gets lost, not as cool as you wanted.
just play with it, and nothing to worry about.
lots of playability.

I'm not gonna do do many categories, but here we go:
For Prime: MP for everything. Yes, everything.
For Megartron. I will say MP for almost everything. The legs still bother me.
That settles that.

MP's for both. If we can't say MP's, then:
RID Prime
Energon Megs

I totally agree, its like my fascination with Gatotron.. not too detailed, but cool face sculpt, and lots of playability.. what's cool is I imagine he's just the right height for a Gi Joe figure, and I could see him stalking Zartan in the swamps and marshlands of Louisiana..cool.. plus i could get the 40th anniversary joes and put gatortron out in the grass with some choice photos and have a good old idiorama.. or comic, modified in Photo shop..he he he

To keep with the "little toy that ended up being really cool" theme:
I thoroughly enjoyed my Legends of Cybertron little Megatron toy. He's cool looking, just like big Cyb Megs, but he doesn't fall over, and his trans is fun and simple.
I got him at the grocery store of all places, and he was tons more fun than the dozen eggs I bought at the same time.
They only could transform ONCE.

ok now that totally ROCKS!!! and Zartan is the man!
Soundwave was my FAVORITE TF when I was a kid, and
Zartan was my FAVORITE GIJOE as a kid.
I still think he rocks, but now my fav. is Golobulus!

My fave Prime of the ones I have (MP, Cyb, LOC Cyb, both Spychanger Primes, and Titanium RID Prime) is 20'th Prime, without a doubt. However, Titanium RID Prime comes in a VERY close second, if for no other reason than the ingenious leg transform design.
As for Megs.. well I only own LOC Cyb Megs, Classics Gun Megs, Classics Tank Megs, and a knockoff of G1 Megs. Of those, it's actually a bit of a tossup between CL Tank and Cl Gun; Cl Gun loses points for his extremely awkward transform, while Cl Tank loses points for the right "hand"...

Well these would be my chocies and im not going to do a breakdown of categories (lazy). So this is my "Best of Show" choices.
Galaxy Convoy (This might change with Voyager Movie Prime).
Classics Megatron (I dont own a MP Megatron yet).

The MP figures are the best for each.
If they have to be "regular" toys then I'd say:
Cybertron Prime
Classice Megs (this would be Energon Megs if I didn't see him as Galvatron as in Superlink).

Best Articulation: THS-02 Prime
Aside from no moving fingers, his articulation COMPLETELY outshines MP Prime IMO. Classics Prime ain't too bad either.
That's the only one I can say for sure, because the rest are close between RiD Prime, THS-02 Prime, Classics Prime, Movie Leader Class Prime
EDITED TO INCLUDE MOVIE LEADER CLASS PRIME!

tron the ultimate figures. Megatron says " to challenge Megatron is to invite certain Death" Mp Prime answers" we shall see Megatron defend yourself"
Classic Megatron says "Indeed"

If we are recreating the battle on top of sheman dam first off Primes Axe is in the right hand. Second Prime doesn't have hi gun and if I rember correctly megs cannon had been lost. And of course the energy sword wasn't seen until the movie.
Other than that it is a pretty nice pic. Though I have to wonder at the chain length on the morning star. Mine is ridiculusly long. As in the whole thing is longer than Megs is tall. But yours seems about the right length.
On the topic at hand I would agree with most of the points about MP Prime and Megs. Though I question whoever said RiD Prime for scale. Rid Prime is ridiculusly huge next to his RiD buddies. Especially in Supermode.

True on all accounts lets just imagine that this is a rematch of the Sherman dam only with more weopons involved.

THS-02 Hybrid Convoy pwns all other versions. If the truck mode was a little less wonky it would be perfect.
