He looks amazing, in every aspect except one, scale.

He should tower over prime, he looks like he will be as tall as the seekers.

A bit disappointed that he isn't bigger than Prime when we are paying more for him than usual. Still a nifty figure and will be picking one up.

Sweet. I'm probably one of the few people who's actually stoked about his size. I want to display him with my Henkei collection.
Looks like he's gonna be roughly the same size as City Commander.
:D

ugh, his size is buggin me. that's a good point about displaying him with the henkei/classics mix, but I like classics grimlock enough to keep him there, and really want a masterpiece sized grimlock. still, the photos look incredible...

He's out of scale in bot mode but looks good next to Prime in alt mode.

With all the inflation last fall in materials and now with shipping, I think Takara had to make it this size. Any bigger would have caused issues with packaging, manufacturing, shipping, and couldn't have potentially limited sales due to even higher costs. In scale, the bot mode would have been considerably wider than the other MP figures, would have been hard for some to display in either mode, and would have cost 200+ dollars.

That said, a Unicron sized Grimlock would have been nice but not for 200-250 dollars.

PS-I would rather have had the crown than the brain thing.

I cant wait to get my hands on this... I dare say its one of the nicest looking Transformers I've seen in a long time

I'm not too bothered about the scale thing either, I'm happy with MP Optimus being the centerpiece of my Masterpiece and Alternators shelf :P

Very good point-Prime and Megs should be the top focal points of the line with the other characters beneath them.

Now, if we can get a Slag and Sludge to go with Grimlock and flank OP, that would be awesome.

Sweet, but I was hoping he would be taller than MP Prime.

FOR GOD'S SAKE!!! GET OVER IT!!!

Sorry for shouting but seriously, everytime pictures of this toy appear we get pages of "wish he were bigger". He may not be as big as OP but (I think) he looks much better. He has a greater level of detail, doesn't look too top heavy which is great for posing and looks fantastic in both molds. This will be the definitive Grimlock and will look amazing in anybodys collection.

To be honest anything bigger than MP Prime wouldn't fit on my shelf - I have a mix of MP's, Alts and Classics so the size is fine, though it would be nice if he was cheaper.

What's the word on Hasbro putting this out like they did Starscream?

Anyone who is surprised about how small he is must have had their head in the sand. We've known for ages he'd only be about as big as SS. When the first rumours of this figure were leaked I said "don't get your hopes too high, there's no way he'll tower over Prime, look what they did with SS" but did anyone take any notice?

That said, I'm glad I've ordered mine. It's just a shame his shoulders don't have very good range.

It's bizarre, how is the news of these images and the other ones I posted about 12 hours ago not front page news by now? Very odd indeed.

I'm glad he's the size of Starscream so now Starscream won't seem so oddly small...If they make them all about that size except for Megs and Prime, I'll be ok with that...

Love that pic of Grimmy eating Prime's head :D

I just hope as bad ass as Grimlock is, Takara makes more Dinobots. Big or small, they translate well in MP format.

Well, the size for the price is disappointing.

But this is an awesome figure. Looks fantastic. I think he'll probably be displayed with my Classics though. It would bug me too much to have him displayed with MP Convoy towering over him.

I'm really disappointed with this. It's really small and it doesn't look much more complex than G1 Grimlock.

Okay, I can understand your size quibble. But "not much more complex"? He doesn't have anything more complex to be! Unlike the other Masterpieces who have real life analogues to take details/accuracy from, Grimlock's only analogues are his very undetailed character model and his G1 toy! That's why I can't believe they made an MP of him in the first place.

That's true, but they did make a figure and because of his undetailed character, it is kind of boring. I'm not saying it's not a cool figure, but it's definitely not a $100 one.
