User Linthart at http://www.otca.com.au is currently attending the 2009 Toy Hobby & Nursery Fair in Melbourne, Australia and has snapped some photos of the pacakging for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Leader-Class Jetfire, which was on display during the Toyfair.

The images are quite large so users with a slower connection be warned. Some have been shrunken down and mirrored here for easy viewing.

The packaging also confirms that Optimus Prime does indeed combine with Jetfire, but the image of the combined mode has been blacked out.

He has a cane? WTF?!?!?!?!?!?

So to point out that this character is old, they have given him a cane... interesting.

Jet mode looks nice.

But here is the information I wanted. I resized one of their huge images for easy viewing.

He's supposed to an old and haggard cybertronian, hence the cane.

I know he's supposed to be old, but so are G1 Kup and animated Ratchet, and they don't have canes or walkers. What are they going to do for a sequel, give him a colostomy bag?

Does the first pic look fake to anyone else? Like they just photoshopped the pic on the back to look like it's the figure in the box?

His head kinda looks like that crab guy's from Futurama, though...

I thought it looked odd in the huge pics from the source site...I think you're right.

It is just a cut-out they place in the box. They do that when they want to showoff what the finished product will look without having a prototype on hand.

but he has facial hair that's suppose to look like a beard...
To show his old age?????

I really dig that bot mode though...

Damnit. Looks like the Movie line has finally got me. That Jetfire is a must-get, and the fact it combines with ROTF Prime who is awesome too, means that this could snowball... <sigh>

It looks like this fig in alt mode will be good in proportions to universe Silverbolt. It also looks like the alt mode is going to have a lot of bot kibble on the bottom and/or like the first movie's Starscream alt.

Why would he need a cane? If he is a robot and mechanical in nature can't they simply replace whatever part is worn out? I'm loosing faith in autobot medics. The earlier report about a geriatric robot with nuts and bolts falling as he walks seem to be true ... ridiculous.

As far as the toy goes, I see the robot mode has the obligatory top heavy, chicken leg Starscream look. The Alt mode reminds me of Sky Lynx, an aircraft on top and lots of Junk below. I'm a fan of the Sr-71, but this figure will not grace my curio

We saw ROTF Leader Class Optimus Prime. You show us ROTF Leader Class Jetfire. Yet you won't show both figures in their combined mode. So unfair man, so unfair. Give us all what we want and show all of us their combined mode.

I will be severely disappointed if he is not voiced by Hugh Laurie.

I like the fact they made him look old with the cane and beard. Goes well with what he is on earth as a SR-71 Blackbird. That jet has been long retired. Now lets just hope they dont make him sound like he is old when talking. Like a old fart with his dentures missing hahaha

I immediately spotted the fakeness in the pic from the fron, but He looks WAY better than his other toys. I'm pleased. Can't wait to see the combined mode.

Don't know about the head and chest but overall I like his design.

And the Alt mode looks great.

Even if I don't have a job come summer he and Leader Op will be a must get rigfht alog with Sideswipe.

That's freaking awesome, best Jetfire ever produced. ROTF is looking better and better.

That just looks like a picture IN a box. And the cane is stupid.

Why is everybody getting so bent out of shape. We knew he had a cane because of the image in the trailer. He isn't the first Transformer to have a beard either. Alpha Trion's beard grows longer as the years progress in G1. This is obviously a nod to AT that the writers and designers wanted to do to appeal to the G1 elitists. They did say that they would do things that would be referencing G1 in some ways. I think it looks amazing however I am not happy with it. I wasn't planning on getting ROTF Prime but now I will have to so I can display him with Jetfire in combined mode. Also, note that the box says Autobot while the Legend class says Decepticon.

Jetfire, assumably, has been away from the Allspark and any kind of Cybertronian technology for a very long time so as his body wears down he has to improvise.

The old guy doesnt look bad now. I have hope for the CGI model.
