First Look at New ROTF BB & Barricade Toys

Yizhi521 of TF08.net has posted two images of new figures from the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen line. One is of the previously reported
new deluxe Bumblebee figure, and the other is a remold of the
deluxe Barricade figure from the first Transformers movie.
Please note that this should not be taken as evidence that Barricade appears in the sequel. The extendable claw gimmick seen on the toy is likely a nod to his appearance in the first film, and there is nothing else to suggest that Barricade will appear in
Revenge of the Fallen.

I'm sure the pics are legit, but I'd have to say, Barricade looks almost like a kitbash, made from Frenzy pieces. It's a bit (like, 2 years) late for this remold, isn't it, if Barricade isn't going to be in the new movie?
BB remold still looks interesting to me: I only bought the black Steath BB the first time round.

My thoughts:
BB's cannons are kind of cool.
Barricade's claws look silly.
I have no interest in either; I have the original versions, and that's enough. But I'm still interested in the new Voyager "Human Alliance" BB.

Second to that. Even though I wont spend on ROTF line, BB is kinda cool. Barricade looks really stupid with those claws.

I thought we've seen this BB before. Maybe it was on another site.

I don't think I'll be getting more of these guys. I'll be focusing more of the new figures.

The claw things for Barricade are stupid as hell. If it's a new mold though, I want to see if he has actual hands this time around. Barricade was my favorite character from the first movie, but his toy has some really borked-up hands.

Id say 2 pack. Om sure Hasbro had a few Barricades lying around so they decided to do this. Sure we'll also see Bonecrusher among a few others redone like this.

Doubt I'll get Barricade since I already have 3 and the new feature isn't fascinating enough to warrant buying a 4th one. Same with BB for exactly the same reasons, right down to the # of figures. Hasbro is diving into the realm of absuridty with the repaint/retooling of the Movie figures, even more so than they usually do. Next repaints are likely to be of these exact figures only this time with "scale 4-in. Chrome exhaust tips" and a clicker on the wheels for that farting Acura/Honda sound.
They need to spend less time beating the dead horses and more time feeding new stallions.

Could they take Barricades that were already made and add these claws? Wouldn't they need to make a new mold and manufacture them from scratch?

Not necessarily...

So you're saying they could take Barricades that were already manufactured and somehow retro-fit them with new parts? Do the factories have that capability, or would that have to do it by hand?

These probably fold up and go inside the compartment that the old little frenzy went. This means it's probably the same mold but instead of a frenzy we get these built in weapons. I think this is better than the original and I will get it. I only wish they would make his head posable. I'm sure they didn't change that =(

Is it just me or does it appear that the opening in the front of Barricade does not go all the way across. It looks to me like it is just two smaller holes instead of the rectangular slot that Frenzy slides into, yet the appendages appear to be jointed like they should fold in instead of sliding straight back. Any theories? My first thought is that the pieces would just snap into place but then why have them jointed if they don't fold inside?
Or, I could be way off entirely but I'm just fishing for other ideas...

Catch and release for instance...

Sorry, I can't be down on someone for having a suggestion. I applaud you for completely catching me off-guard with that response. Did not see that one coming. I'm impressed.
And darn it all, you actually made me start thinking about those old toys on top of it all. I'm likely going to hurt myself in the process...

I'm kind of confused on how there's no proof that Barricade won't appear in ROTF....weren't there photos of a couple of Barricades being hauled on semi-trailers for filming?

Pretty sure Barricade's in the movie. They made a point of mentioning that they haven't been able to catch him in the IDW comics. If he weren't in the flick, they probably would have offed him in the prequel.

that's true......but if you think about it, the only Decepticon that has been seen during filming has been Sideways (outside of anything seen in the movie teasers). The Barricades that were spied on the semi-trailers we right along in traffic with Ironhide and the Can-Am Spyders, as I recall.
