How are you defining A-group? Best figure or best quality? For example, is a MISB Spinister considered better than a second-hand Sixshot purchased off Ebay?

Hmmmm I guess ill bite on this thread. The way I consider my "A" and "B" group would probably be what I have out on dosplay at the time. Right now I have very little space to display anything so it is quite limited (this should change when I move to Seattle in early July and get my own apartment). So what I have on display would be my Starscream collection, Alternator / Binaltechs and a few of the Japanese Exclusives.

So I guess this is the B group. I have a few Cybertron figures on display but for the most part they are in tubs, same with my Energon stuff. I domply have no room to display them so they sit in tubs.

I don't really buy TF's i don't like but I guess the way I seperate group A and B transformers are Group A are TF's that are really hard to get in england so I display them on a single shelf glass case in my Living room.

Group B are probably what i have out at the moment and have most fun transforming and they are just on a small shelf.

The rest of my TF's are packed away in their boxes untill i move to a bigger place to display.

Group A

20th anniversary Optimus Prime
Masterpiece Megatron (unmodified)
G1 Optimus prime (1982 Takara original)
S-16 G1 Megatron Takara reissue
G1 Starscream Hasbro reissue
G1 Rodimus Major Hasbro Reissue
TFC 18 Soundblaster Takara reissue
set of 4 Takara minibot keyrings : Bumbleebee, Brawn, Windcharger Cliffjumper
G1 Astrotrain Hasbro Reissue
Titanium War within Prime (I like the design)

Group B

the classics: Megs, prime, jetfire, screamer, rodimus & bumblebee so far
Energon toeline (such a great figure, thinking of repainting it as a classics Ironhide or Ratchet)
Energon Shockblast
BT white meister
BT deadend
Alt Smokescreen

...Actually there is only 1 TF i have that i dislike, Energon Ultra magnus. Its such a brick and i don't even have an Armada Prime to attach it to . The transforming sound is kinda cool though.

My collection is small enough that I can display all of it at once, though it is split over two shelves and my computer desk.
They aren't split into A and B groups as such though. I've got one shelf for Decepticons, one shelf for Autobots, and most of the smaller figures are on my computer desk.

Lets see, A group, roughly in order of preference:
- Revoltech Megatron
- Toynami 1/100 VF-1S
- Predaking
- BT Shockwave (Laserwave)
- ALT Tracks and mangled G1 Tracks
- Classics Reissue Soundwave with Lazerbeak and Ravage
- Titanium Scourge in robot mode standing next to G1 scourge in vehicle mode
- Classics Astrotrain in robot mode standing next to G1 Astrotrain in shuttle mode.
- Deluxe Classics: Bumblebee, Grimlock, Starscream, Hot Rod.
- Voyager Classics: Jetfire, Prime, Megtraon.
- Japanese Armada Jetfire
- Cybertron Soundwave, Sideways, Scrapmetal

B Group, again roughly in order of preference:
- LOC Starscream in and KO GF Starscream
- KO Energon Rodimus and Optimus
- G1 Headmaster Chromedome minus the headmaster partner. He gets displayed in vehicle mode because of the missing head.
- Tiny KO G1 Devestator and Bruticus
- KO GF Scourge
- G1 Springer with sword that won't stay up.
- G1 Sharpnel and Kickback both partially broken
- Dirt Digger and Predator Minicon Teams
- A bunch of Micromasters
- G1 Hun-Grr displayed with his gestalt helmet on, his gestalt chest plate plugged into his left arm socket and a KO of Drag-Strip plugged into his right arm socket.
- G1 Wheelie with missing canopy so his face is always visible in vehicle mode.
- Action Master Slag
- SWTF Darth Maul

I'm not so much of an A or B class person. When I can finally display my small collection it will be in a like-for-like manner.

Top Shelf = Masterpiece

Middle Shelf = Alts/Bts

Lower Shelf = Re-issues

My collection isn't large enough to need splitting, but the top shelf is reserved for "Les Invalides" toys that are missing a few bits. (cannonless Galvatron, tailess TM Megs, a few headlessmasters ect)

well my spin on this can actually only concern what I display and don't display because of size purposes.
Since I have become somewhat of a MISBer, my current collection on display has:
-the first 12 alternators plus skids and prime with nemesis prime and mirage in box on display on top of my television
-my whole cybertron collection(entire line minus repaints)
-20th anniversary prime
-Unicron
-reissue rodimus prime
-energon optimus prime pen
-energon basics and Bruticus

I can not wait to able todisply my entire collection

yeah every person has their own way of defining group
A & B, so if you post how you do it, great!

what if you HAD to give 1 away from group B?
let's say to some poor kid you know,
that is going through a tough time.

Right now I suppose my "A Group" would be all of the classics (minus minicons and legends) and Alt. Ravage, Rumble and Sunstreaker on display.

My "B Group" would be 10th Anniversary BW Cheetor and Ratrap as well as Universe Arcee.

Hmm, I have too many to list them all off, but I can tell the basics. I pretty much have 3 groups.

A Group (displayed on a shelf above my entertainment centre):

Alternators & their respective Reissue & Classics versions
20th Prime with several other incarnations of Prime
MP Starscream with his two Energon counterparts
MP Megatron with my custom G1-repainted G2 Hero Megatron & WST Megs
Classics Skywarp
Robot Masters Jetfire (or whatever his real J-name is...R-Blade or something)
Thundercrackers (G1 & Cybertron)
Oh, almost forgot my Rodimii. Energon, Cybertron, Classics, Reissue

B Group (in my closet, on a middle shelf):

RiD Magnus, Autobot Brothers, Scourge & a couple others
Energon Bruticus (or whatever his name is), Shockwave, misc Autobots
Cybertron, most of the 'Bots (-Prime), some Decepticons
Misc G2 & WST
I also display Dreamwave comics & Reissue boxes here

And a few figures I don't really like enough to display make up my C Group, which are in a box where I keep all my Alt boxes.

I don't open many figures. Everything that is open, I have a 2nd MISB/MOSC.

I doubt i'll pick up 2x of all of the movie toys but there a few figures I dig enough to buy 2.

Well I have severely limited space, so many of the Transformers I would like to have in my A group just cannot fit.

(My 'A' group sits on a very full bookcase, infront of the books, my 'B' group has a small table in the loungeroom)

A:
Alternators: Hound, Swindle, Dead End, Meister, Silverstreak, Prime.
Re-Issues: Inferno, Red Alert, Prowl, Tracks, Jazz, Ricochet, Grapple, Astrotrain.
Other: TM2 Megatron, G1 Scourge, G1 Motormaster, G1 Stunticons.

My 'B' group consists of the other pieces of my collection, comprising of Almost every Cybertron figure, and alot of Energon, Beast Wars, Classics, Turbomasters, minicons, the remaining G1 figures I own, and a few Universe, Predator, Armada and Titanium figures.

space is a serious concern for me too, so
the biggest bot I have is voyager class.

btw, who is that on your avatar?
