I got the original for 35 dollars thanks to a Walmart price mixup. Honestly, I wouldn't pay anything more for this mold. At a higher price tag, you're getting ripped off, even with the battle mask.

Agreed, mostly. I too got him at 35, and wouldn't have paid more than 45. He's more fun than people give him credit for, tho, IMHO. He's huge, and it's fun to watch him wiggle and make noise. He makes a fun statue at least. Alt mode is awesome- rubber tires FTW.

I kind of fear that this is the kind of product a family member would buy for me, thinking that they were getting me something 'really cool'.
I hate those situations, where the person is feeling really glad to give a gift they think the receipiant will enjoy, but you can not help but be disappointed with.

I understand exactly what you're saying but I usually don't mind it too much...I always appreciate the effort, especially since in my case it's pretty rare...If someone were to get me a figure I specifically passed up on my own, I'd be ok with it (espeically since it didn't cost me anything...)

I passed on this one the first time. The toy just didn't justify the price. A friend of mine has it. I like it for display but not to play with. Still wouldn't buy it.
I can't beleive they are putting the same figure out again. I would think they would do a new character in this class.
I love it when someone pick up a figure for me that I passed on. My GF's parents got me the Animated Supreme OP (I know, most of you guys hate it). I did buy it myself, but I love that guy now. It was a nice surprise at Xmas. Plus it makes the giver feel like they are invested in the collection. They contributed to the awesomeness.

Shockwave-style hands, again? If they would put a removable fist at least to it, I would consider buying it, but this is just last years slag repacked.

Oooo a battle helmet, now it's a must buy... not.
Of all the rehashed products from the last movie, did we really need this shelf warmer again.

The right hand and chest piece are not fixed. Until those are fixed, I will not buy him.

Oddly enough, the photos on the box show a retooled mold with the updated hood and front-end but the actual figure in the box is the same as the one from '07.

I used to have that happen to me all the time, (hence my Coke collection) but I've now gotten to the point where I make a list and I put at the top "Do not deviate, or otherwise substitute from this list otherwise I cannot guarantee you will get the outcome you desire"... Certain family members understand this (DJ) and completely appreciate not having to guess... A drawback from this is you usually end up knowing what you're going to get...

Agreed! My Mom got me the Star Wars Transformers Millennium Falcon a couple Christmas' ago. It wasn't something I'd ever intended to buy, but you know what? It was the first TF she'd bought me in years, and I thought the sound chips were pretty cool. Hell, even if I just keep it in vehicle mode on a shelf it's pretty great. Sometimes the gifts you didn't know you wanted are the best kind.

yeah, we know exactly which TFs we do and don't want, but I have to say, my girlfriend and sister have recently worked out that the only presents I really enjoy receiving are TFs, (so now that's all I get from them

) and they've surprised me many times by getting me ones that I really wouldn't have thought about getting, but have ended up really liking (because of a surprisingly clever transformation or whatever)
and when they're not, I've gotten good at pretending I really do
