G1 Colored Movie Sideswipe-- Target Make This Please

Probably the only figure I like from the new movie toys, Sideswipe has been repainted as a custom of what he could look like in his G1 incarnation's colors.
Now, our own S250 has said that these images are of a custom piece, but maybe, just maybe HASBRO will make this based on their answer to our question presented last month.
You can check out the rest of them
here.

Why is it that I see movie Sideswipe being 'The best he is at what he does', and that if they wanted to do a Marvel X-over using this mold, Wolverine's colors would look right at home on it.

It's a damn shame Hasbro can't do a repaint as good as this. They are totally going to screw this color up if/when they decide to do it. The red plastic they use to mold their figures, any shade of red plastic, never comes out looking quite this good. I'm afraid we are on our own for a decent G1 version of Sideswipe.

That would be really cool, it's a much better option for a G1 redeco than a lot of things have been.
And I'll get slightly off topic, but I've been kicking myself for a year and a half for passing over the Jazz redeco the one and only time I ever saw him.

This might end up being the mold I'm looking for to make a proper custom Overdrive.

This is STILL the most awesome looking fig to date in the ROTF line, no matter WHAT the paint job.
I pray to GAWD there aren't any release-wide major mold issues with this thing, like chronically loose shoulders or sticky paint...

Well, if they somehow could use the same kind of quality red that was on Universe Sideswipe for a repaint, then maybe I'd hold out hope. Highly doubt it though, seeing how cheap Movie Cliffjumper looked.

I did a quick 2 minute digibash of this into Tracks.

Come on Hasbro make these at least store exclusives.

I can see the Wolverine thing.
But when I saw this character first, it screamed Tracks to me.

Throw in a white head and a firebird sticker and I'll buy it.

Great Job on the digi-bash. Seeing that and then looking at Marvel Crossover Wolverine, I'm thinking that this guy would have been the better choice. As for Skids, I think I would rather see a robot design closer to the original or that of Movie Jazz. Skids just has a...smooth factor to him, a laidback "coolness" that that this figure doesn't quite bring across. This version has just to much "bad-ass" lethality to really strike me as Skids. It's like seeing Billy Dee Williams wearing the Punisher t-shirt. Kinda makes the brain glitch a bit.

I think I'd prefer a Tracks repaint of this figure since we've already got Universe Sideswipe, although Skram could work as well though.
Given the arm swords, I would say this should be how they get Drift on the shelf, but it just doesn't work so well to have Drift transform into an American sports car.
I'll probably just by the default colors. I don't have many silver TFs, so it will actually make him pretty unique.
As far as the crossover thing, Wolverine's just not lithe enough to use this mold. He's stocky and tough. That Cybertron figure was a much better fit.
Now, Deadpool however...

Don't loose too much sleep over it. The figure is crummy, and a paint job doesn't change that. You get a good looking toy car and that's about it. Plus, when Universe returns after TF2, I'd guess the likelihood of a Jazz figure to be pretty high.

I'd like to see this figure repainted as Tracks, complete with flame deco on the bonnet and a white helmut/red face.
That would be so sweet.

I could go for that. He might even stand in as my Universe/Classics Tracks if they did it right.

Seeing these images makes me more and more excited to get this figure, and to watch the movie.

I know he's out of scale but for me Binaltech Blue Version Tracks with the flame-decal is the contemporary version, at least until they update him with his trunk missiles and flying car mode.

Isn't there actually a read repaint coming from this mold under a different name?

If they do a Tracks repaint in blue, it'll be a Walmart exclusive.
If they do a G1 Sideswipe repaint in red, it'll have to be a Target repaint.
There's a trend with these stores and their exclusives color choice.

Ooooh. If only...
Thanks to these images I'll be buying 3 Wave 1 Sideswipes... so I can repaint them both into Tracks/G1 Swipe. >_>
