Latest Universe buys go wrong?

Just got ahold of a couple of the only remaining TFU toys at our local Walmart and came across an interesting dilema. Sideswipe has a loose head reveal mechanism and a strange gap where his upper arm and shoulder connect. I'll grant this may be a bit of degradation and to be expected, but the problem with Silverstreak is a bit stranger. Upon transforming him for the first time out of the box the entire section with his head on it came completely out. I compared it with my Prowl figure and as far as I can tell nothing is broken or misaligned, but it just likes to pop out for some reason. Anyone else know if this is a major problem in the line or should I just not buy the bullshit that Walmart stocks any more?

With Silverstreak, do you mean the part that forms the front of the car, not just the little platform that the head is mounted on?. That section came out when I first transformed my Silverstreak, too.
It turns out that the plastic that wraps around the metal pivot bar had split, so the main car section just lifted right out. There should be a smaller piece of plastic underneath the hinge pin - a little bit of liquid polystyrene seems to have reattached them quite securely; just be careful not to glue either part to the outer car parts

That problem with Silverstreak happened to me to.
The part with the head just fell off after transforming it but I was able to put it back on, now I am just really careful when moving it incase I wear out the joint and it doesnt re-attach.
Speaking of Silverstreak my figure has this problem with the ball-joints on his car doors. They are incredibly weak (weak enough to be comparable to the infamous TFU Galvatron's arm) so like Galvatron I just take them off while transforming him then transform them and re-attach them when I'm done.
Also out of interest, Is there anyway to get rid of the infamous Ironhides head issue?

This makes his groin too far forward and his head too far back. A better solution would be to fit a ball joint to his neck.

Yeah, I bought an Inferno whose left arm was facing the opposite way. I had to go in there with a screwdriver and repair myself. Otherwise, his fist would have been facing the wrong direction.

Basicly, the only Universe figure that I can't deal with at this point is TFU Hot Shot. That thing seriously sucks butt-hole.

UPDATE: Well it's been awhile since I've done anything here since the ****ing movie took center stage, but hearing about the new Universe exclusives I got ahold Powerglide and Hardhead. Unfortunately I have, once again, hit a problem with them. The wing that Powerglide's left arm is mounted on will not stay pegged into the engine in robot mode. Now that I look at it closer it seems the problem stems from a slightly warped molding around the pin that the wing folds up on. As for Hardhead... my problems with him stem more from personal reasoning.
If anyone else has had a problem like this... speak up now before I try doing something stupid to fix it.

I have yet to be able to transform any of the Prowl molds without the doors popping off. They are pretty much just on display now so I don't really mess around with them anymore.
I haven't picked up the new Powerglide yet, but my Hardhead has that notorious problem with the clips on the legs refusing to stay in place.

It's tricky (the Prowl/Silverstreak/Smokescreen mold transforming), but doable. The trick is not to force it, and to spin it around as you move it.

My Bluestreak's door always pop off, the transparent plastic has cracks in (and always did, must be from when it was first popped on in the factory) so the extra play the cracks allow mean they will never stay on. Also the hip ball joints are so incredibly tight there are stress marks on the upper legs. I was going to get Prowl and Smokescreen, not anymore. I have had small but fixable issues with every classics 2.0 transformer I have bought except that and Ironhide/Ratchet's head. I have done the mod to fix their posture, but do not have the spare parts to ball-joint the heads.

update... again: took the one powerglide back and bought 2 more(ZOMGSCALPER) to check if they all have problems and as far as I can tell they're both fine, however I'm beginning to wonder if there isn't some mold degradation anyway since the one wing on both of them still has a bit of trouble staying in anyway. Again, I must ask if anyone else can attest to said problem or do I just have rotten luck?
Regarding the door problems with the ball joints, I'm thinking Hasbro should just stop making ball joint doors. Sure it's a lot simpler than other things they could do, but the doors on my old RID Prowl have cracked around the socket part of the joint, and Sideburn starting to reach that point as well.

Ugh. Yes. I was so excited when I found Ratchet, only to discover his chest plate is bent. (Like yours, mine was a Wal-Mart buy.)
When you fold the bumper in, the chest plate is supposed to rise up behind the windshield. Unfortunately, my chest piece is bent so that it will not properly slide up.
I don't know if this is fixable or not. I'm guessing not. If not, I'll use this sucker as practice for repairing the Ironhide/Ratchet head issue.

I never had any trouble with the Ironhide/Ratchet mold other than it is truly hideous in SUV mode. The bot mode for that mold is fantastic though.
For the Nissan/Datsun Z-brothers mold, I haven't had any trouble with any of mine. I have Prowl, Silverstreak, and Smokescreen. Silverstreak is actually the best example of that mold of the 3 I own.

My red Powerglide had the same issue with the left wing not wanting to attach to the engine properly. I returned him for another who was only slightly better. I compared it with my original gray version and noticed it had the same problem just to a lesser degree. There is just something about that left side that isn't quite right.
