How does one perserve the rubber parts on G1 transformers? :-? Such parts as the rubber hose section on G1 Shockwave? :-? I know it has a wax coating on it, but in time the hose still cracks, as does some the rubber tires on G1 cars.

Is there any kind of protecting sealent or wax coating products out there to protect my investments? :???:

Really the rubber is going to dry out and crack regardless of what you do. However you can try to lengthen its life span by using something form of rubber treatment on them such as they have for restoring preserving rubber and vinyl moldings in cars. 3M makes a rubber and tire treatment that might help.

Also much like with any and all plastics and rubber materials keeping it out of direct sunlight and at a moderate temperature will help expand its lifespan. To hot or to cold and the rubber starts to break down faster and become less elastic and more brittle which is what causes the cracks to form in it. Direct sunlight, or more importantly the UV rays in it also cause faster deterioration. If you take care of it properly those rubber parts should last another a long time.

Also the same preventive measures I mentioned will help prevent yellowing/darking of all other plastic parts in a figure.
