Wal-Mart's ROTF Release dates Wrong

ok, nobody likes bad news, but unfortunatley I have some and I have to share it. Not only does my walmart not have the preview figs, but most here in austin apperently dont. So I researched Soundwaves upc and item code, and heres what I found out:
The Transformers Movie Preview figs are currently in the Wal-mart computers listed as haveing THE SAME RELEASE DATE as the rest of the figs. Not only that, but according to our systems (I triple checked this with my telzan) the transformers movie toys sale lock out doesnt turn off untill the May 31 instead of the 30 as marked on the boxes.
Ive been wondering wtf with wal marts toys lately. We never got the 25th anniversery turtles, when we were supposed to back in february, we only just now got terminator toys, which have been out in all other retail chains for over a month, we stopped recieving g i joe way back in january, and many of the newer action figure lines that have come out in recent months have ever made it to the wal mart shelves. Ive been meaning to talk to my regional director about this, but my emails have not been returned yet.
I will keep you guys and gals posted as I learn more.

thanks for the info. I'm really thinking that there was never a 15th street date. Nobody found any in the US on the 15 or after so I'm just thinking that a rep screwed up.

Well that IS pretty stupid...But I'm certainly not going to cry about because I pretty much stopped buying TFs from Walmart back when they suddenly became the most expensive place to get them...I was going to look at Target or Toys R Us anyway...
And I don't even really care if the preview figs come out with the rest or if everything comes out a day late because a) of the two previews, I only want Soundwave so it's just ONE more figure to wait for and b) even though I want a lot of the movie toys and I'm looking forward to them, I'm not at ALL worried about getting ahold of them because I know there will be absolutely no shortage of them...So I'm just not interested in killing myself trying to get everything the exact day it comes out...They won't be going anywhere for a long time...
That's just me though

I've noticed the same problems sited by IS. Makes me want to take and see about getting the **unexplainable distortion** out of Wal-Mart anyway possible.

Well damn, looks like I'm going to have to wait to get Soundwave. Also doesn't it defeat the purpose of having a preview wave if it comes out on the same day as the rest of the line?

It's funny how much stores lose out when they do stuff like this.
For example, look at the TF Animated stuff last summer. Walmart was the first to put it out by about two weeks, and everyone in the community scrambled to go after them. Most Walmarts here were getting hit heavily and by the time Target and TRU put their TFA stuff out, Walmart had sold through a large part of there's. What's funny is that alot of the stuff that Target and TRU had at that point started to pegwarm - because Walmart cornered the market by those two weeks.
Same thing could happen here. If Walmart, TRU, and Target don't time this right, they could see another game of catch-up with each other. So many figures are getting leaked out early that is shows the timing should be more stream-lined.

I can confirm this. I preordered Soundwave from TRU.com and i got an email yesterday saying that the release date has been moved from the 15th to the 30th. What the hell is hasbro thinking? Its been a month since ive seen TFs on the selves. Hell not just TFS but star wars and a few others. Every one is losing money due to this. Hasbro loses cause the store wont order figures until they run out of ROTF, the stores lose cause they cant sell the ROTF and theres no TFs on the shelves to sell, And we the buyers lose cause well we cant feed the hunger that is collecting. Not to mention all the wasted gas used while hunting. The figures should just go on sale when they arrive at the store. This release date BS is not needed in the toy world.

Hasbro may also have been hoping that more of the TFA and TFU stuff would have sold down by now. Granted here all of the deluxe class figures from both series have dried up alot, but the larger class Voyagers, Ultras, and Leaders are shelf-warming. Target already is staring to clearance those out, but unless TRU and Walmart do the same, they may be very short on shelf space for ROTF stuff. This may give them another two weeks to sale stuff out, before they have to take a hit on all of that older merchandise. Really, how many people are going to buy a months old Onslaught or Silverbolt, when the ROTF drops?
As for SW and other lines - Hasbro won't be putting much effort into those with ROTF coming soon. They lost a bit of money last time, when there was that TFTM drought just after the first couple of Waves. I can see Hasbro and the retailers really loading up on the ROTF stuff - so much so, that they don't want to run out.

Sounds like a logical assumption..... Now TRU needs to put Unicron on clearance. I'm tired of walking into mine and seeing the same crap that's been there for 3 months.

I thought TRU had TF animated first? Guess I was wrong.

Same goes here. We don't get G.I. Joe figs and recently we got Terminator Salvation figures. And we never got the Preview figs out on the shelves.

WAL-MART SUCKS!!!!!

Well isn't this a shocker.... The preview figs were only BB, Sw, OP, the goofy arm blaster and the BB voice changer right? Not a big loss but it just shows one of the parties involved couldn't get their head out of butt...I got Sw ordered online so unless some sort of exclusive fig was coming out in secret, I won't lose sleep about this

Oh I'm still going to be at the store at midnight on the 30th of the month. I will buy those figures. The street date on the case says the 30th, so pony up.
That will be enough to get me to call a manager.

As far as I've heard, it was a worldwide date. The Preview Wave (Bumblebee, Soundwave) isn't supposed to be held back by a street date, but Hasbro had some kind of a mix up and all of the figures are due to be released on the 30th, instead of the 15th like we were promised.
Your experience is proof that some stores went with the Preview and released them for sale.

AND APPARENTLY THEY SCREWED SOMETHING ELSE UP TOO!! i just went ot walmart today, south florida, and what did i see? DEMOLISHOR AND THE NEW IRONHIDE i was estatic to see it and i rushed to the main checkout with demolishor and what happens?! they tell me its supposed to be recalled? WHAT. THE. HELL.
not only this but toysrus seems to have released all the coloring books and such for the kids, i even found the junior novel adaptation supposedly, i didn't dare read through it but i saw a page and i recognized the college scene from the movie, i didnt buy it for fear of spoils and my rush to get home for other things but i fear that may have been the 'recall' excuse too, i just think some idiot took everything out of the back store room too early
