The rumor was that the individual bots do not form Devastator on their own. I am surprised the packaging does not say "Collect all constructicons to form devastator"
I have no clue if they do or don't. If they form devastator, I might have to buy it.

However that is also somewhat incorrect.
As fo this writing there are 3 confirmed versions of the Movie Revenge of the Fallen Devastator/Constructicons.
First there the Combining Devastator. This one is made of the 6 constructicons, and can disassemble into individual constructicons. However These constructicons don't have robot modes, only Vehicle modes. The constructicons will be sold together in a box set.
Then there is the set of constructicons that are sold separately that have Both Vehicle and robot forms but cannot combine to form Devastator. These are larger figures, with more complex transformations but lack the ability to combine.
And lastly there's the recently revealed Legends class Devastator. This is comprised of apparently 7 constructicons that have both robot and vehicle modes and can combine to form Devastator.
However this version is quite small. Maybe around 9 inches tall when combined.
We still don't know if these will be sold separately or as a box set.

there is no way that rumor is true! the combiners in energon for example: you did not have to buy the combined form of hot shot and inferno, then inferno and hot shot by themselves. and the energon superion maximus you did not buy the superion robot then the six that made him up. well you could but you would have doubles of each robot. what started this ridiculous rumor?

You would need to buy the 6 individual constructicons (with robot modes) and then buy the Devastator Boxset if you want to have a Devastator and individual Contructicons that have robot modes.
Your only other option is the Legends Class constructicons which have robot modes and can combine into the Devastator but are very very small.

I'm with you, I hope this rumor is just some ridiculous lie but nobody knows till those toys are released. I can't imagine buying contructicons that don't merge into Devastator. weird..... we should know soon

Your're wrong. The main toys that turn from vehicle to robot can not combine to form Devastator. The actual Devestator figure is a seperate toy where the vehicles turn into the appendages to make Devestator. The only one that does combine is the legends set. So the original poster was correct.

Thank You. Yes. That's what I've bee trying to get across all along.
The Whole point of having the Vehicles without robot modes combine into Devastator is because the ones with Robot modes can't do it.

transman487 wrote:so i was looking at the ez devastator preorder on bbts and i was a little confused about pricing. the legends devatator is $54.99 which seems very expensive expecially when you can get the supreme devatator for probabley around $50.00 or $60.00.
so which one would be smarter to get price wise
There a small problem with that. Supreme Devastator is going for about 100 bucks. not 50 or 60.
$50 would be a leader class figure if I'm not mistaken.
Legends devastator is made up of 7 figures at about 7 bucks a pop for legends figures that comes out to 50 bucks.
With all that aside, Supreme Devastator does not have Individual robot modes only vehicles modes.
While the legends Class does.
And finally there is still no guarantee that Legends Devastator is going to make it to anywhere outside Japan.
So you'll need to add shipping costs from Japan to the price of the set.
All in all, Supreme Devastator seems to be the smarter choice.

Second of all, the "Supreme" one is going to be $100 at retail, twice the price of the Legends one.
Oh, and Legends figures actually transform, so there's that too. And it will fit on a shelf.
So neither is better; it's all about preference. I think a set of Legends-class transforming combiners that will fit on a shelf in gestalt mode PLUS an extra $50 left over is a better deal than a $100 gestalt that's inconvenient to display and is composed of vehicles that don't transform. Diff'rent strokes.

I thought it would be a badass-looking, 2-foot tall thing of beauty, turns out it's a freaking gremlin. Or an ape with bad arthritis. Horrible. Definitely not worth the $150.
