Heya Fellow Transformers Fan! I thought it would be fun to just put out there what we as fans would like to see as repaints that Hasbro could release under the Universe/Classics 2.0 line up for next year after the ROTF toys are through with their run.. Or what would be an awesome Botcon exclusive!!

the Rules:

it has to be a repaint or modification of an existing Transformer.. Mods can include new heads, hands, and or feet sculpts.. an maybe chest, or add on armors..

anyways, that's my vote.. it will probably be easier for Hasbro to just do a new head sculpt and modify jetfire into star Saber then doing a complete resculpt of a previous toy..
but I do think if they take Jetfire and turn him into Star Saber, then they should add small wings to the front of the ship, which turn into his chest..

I'm gonna do my own digibash to explain what I think they could do with a repaint and slightly modified Jefire into Star Saber..


So who do you think Hasbro should release next year as a Classics/Universe repaint and slight mod??

Well I could see Hasbro easily doing the following for Classics 3.0;

Hound > Combaticon Swindle
This would just take a head remold and repainting of the mold to pull that off.

Sideswipe > Red Alert
Come on! The fans are asking for this one. It's a no brainer repaint with sirens for the car mode.

Inferno > Grapple
I think this is possible but what I can't figure out is how Hasbro can approach the crane issue for him. The molding to show the fire equipment could possibly be remolded to show construction equipment.

Sideswipe > Stunticon Breakdown
This would just take a possible head remold and repainting of the mold to pull this off.

At this point I can't think of anything else because I'd rather see some more new molds for characters like
Trailbreaker / Hoist
Wheeljack / Tracks
Blitzwing
and the other 4 Dinobots or at least Slag & Sludge

new molds would be nice...


On the Repaint front though, I would like to see a seeker repaint, sunstorm!!

One cannot have enough seekers. Personally I want more rainmakers, a Sunstorm and a G2 Dirge

Repaint of old molds:
Hound - Swindle (with new head!)
Ravage - Steeljaw
Inferno - Grapple (same head, but new attachment, instead of the water cannon, a ladder)
Starscream - Sunstorm and any of the other 2 remaining rainmakers
Bumblebee - Hubcap and bumper (with new heads...)


New molds with repaints (and new heads or access. when noted):
Soundwave - Blaster with new head, also, soundwave's guns must be ablle to combine so they can form a rifle for blaster
Laserbeak - Buzzsaw
Rumble - Frenzy
Rumble - Eject with new head
Rumble - Rewind with new head
Hoist - Trailbreaker with new head

others i want to see:
tracks
wheeljack
shockwave
reflector
scourge

Most of all I want to see a Classics but faithful G-1 Shockwave!! that would be sweet!

And that's just some of the stuff I'm working on! They have literally dozens of possabilties to work with.

C Red Alert really works better for Trailbreaker. With the visor, the shoulder cannons, the left "hand" plus that alt mode? If I can find my camera, I'll post pics of the repaint I've already done later today.

...and anything else along those lines.

Titanium War Within Thrust as Terrorsaur. Any mold used for Terrorsaur could also be used for Fractyl, Hydra and Lazorbeak.

Seaspray-a remolded Cybertron Shortround with a new head.
Headstrong/Ramhorn-repaint of the (possible) future Rhinox.

G2 Road Rocket/Junkions-Energon Ransack repaint with a new head.
Movie Blackout-Universe Prowl repaint.
Ravage-Energon Battle Ravage with Beast Wars head.

I'd have to disagree with those folks who said Hound-> Swindle. Hound looks nothing like Swindle's toy or animation model. Just 'cos he's a jeep isn't enough.

Ditto for Sideswipe -> Breakdown.

Here are my Trailbreaker, Perceptor and my first Swindle. I'm making a second Swindle from Strongarm as a combiner leg for ROTF Bruticus. You can also see the chest piece of the Fallen in the back there. I totally agree with Diem and think that Swindles from Hound don't try very hard.

The four blue tupperwears have my WIP Jazz, Swindle 2, Reflector and Tracks. All the rest are under the table.

I pretty much agree with you, but in all actuallity its probably what would most quickly suit the figure requirements and be easily produced. While I would love to see Breakdown, a Swindle from Classics Hound doesn't (like, in my mind at least) sound all that bad. If we were to get new molds for each that would be better, but I can imagine it working with those pre-existant two.
IF we were to get a Breakdown from the SS/SSwipe mold, that work ok. I've seen some custom Menasors that use that mold at least once as Breakdown and/or Wildrider.

I'm all for figures that are awesome, but in no way should collectors be obligated to buy them to complete a collection, which is why the '06 and '08 and '09 (with an argument about Scourge) were great sets.

What I'd like to see would be a set to commemorate the "hi and die" characters from the old Marvel comics. Ferak, Chameleon, Macabre and others who held a small role in comics and ended up dying for the sake of a story.

On the BotCon evaluation forms, this was almost exactly the set I recommended them to do for next year.

Like, if you missed the 06 set it's not like you missed out on having a full BW set, you know?

Hells, I'm a casual BW fan, own the 06 set although it's only the box and not the add ons, and I feel like my life is lacking bacause I don;'t have the Megatron and Waspinator figures. You had to bring that up, huh?
Yeah, but seriously CP, what I meant was that we all know the 07 Seekers debate, and the 06 BW set doesn't present that kind of a problem, even for way die hard BW fanatics. It's not like any of the characters were even shown in Cybertronian modes during the show so it;s not like an integral part of the show is lost by not having the set.
I understand your marketing ploy here and all, I was just attempting to clarify. So, you propose that we create an artificial demand for the 06 Botcon set? I'm on board for that.

That being said, I don't think there's any need to create artificial demand for the 2006 set. It's already the most expensive one out there. I mean, when you start off needing 7-8 hundred bucks to get Megatron and Waspinator alone...
