The newest K-Mart Catalogue starting May 17th will be released online soon. Our own i_amtrunks has seen the catalogue and is reporting that the Transformers Movie Protoform Toys will be on sale for $19.99, a saving of $10. So if you have not picked your Protoforms up yet , you may want to wait until May 17th.

not exactly cheap but still better than the $30 price tag

It is much better than paying $30 for them, considering they are very small figures.

This is an introductory sale, so once this catalogue finishes, they will go to their regular price of $29.99.

Heads up for all the Americans, this sale is in Australia, Hotrod has forgotten to add that detail in.
As a general rule though, anytime you see over-inflated prices that are more than double what the normal American price is, you can bet the prices are either in UK Pounds, or Australian Dollars.

As a rough exchange, http://www.xe.com has AU$30 = US$24.99

It's called shipping.

Because apparently it costs more to ship to Australia from the Asian factories than it does to America.

Yeah and the ones around here in N. Alabama have the movie toys but just look don't buy. They have them on the shelves but won't let you buy them. Talk about a tease. I think that's just wrong.

I think they still blame the $AU, from when it was equal to about $US0.48. If the Aussie Dollar was still at that point then the prices would be fine, but the fact that we are now hovering around US$0.80 makes the prices ridiculous.

Yeah, but who's going to put their prices up or down because of the fluctating dollar price?

Face it, once something goes up, it tends to stay up.

With the current high rate of the dollar though I have been looking around overseas, doesn't make a difference though when you factor in shipping.

I agree with the prices, look at the Deluxe Price Point, it will now stay at $30 for whatever upcoming lines, and to be honest I cannot think of a single deluxe figure I own that would be worth $30, seeing as I bought most of them on sale (and often used my gf ColesMyer discount card too).

I did the same thing when the $AU went up, but the shipping prices mean that unless you order in more than $350 worth of stuff you really dont save much at all.

Wonder if Shepparton gonna get em? They bloody well better. The price for them isn't bad. Now if it was Big w on the other hand my sister can get employee discounts :)

I remember the good ol' days when Deluxes were $20. I so wish that they didn't increase in size and price. ._.

I did the same thing for Classics Ramjet and Cliffjumper. Got them about a few weeks ago. Got sick of waiting, considering they only turned up here on the Sunishine Coast last Friday.

Going to pick up these preview figures this Friday. I'm not passing judgement on them until their in my hands and ready for the coming posing onslaught. Only then I'll decide if they were worth $20 each. Then again, I'll buy the entire movie line and not care for a single dollar spent. It's worth it. I've waited years for this

If they are a catalogue item and they are not instore/available due to shipping problems, and not because they sold out, then I am pretty sure that Kmart has to give you a raincheck until they do come in for the same price.

Seeing as how well the classics sold, Im sure most Kmarts would be chomping at the bit to get these in, hoping they sell as well.

My gf found the protoforms at Kmart Penrith NSW on an endcap at the opposite end of the toy section. Had about 15 or more of each.
So if the protoforms are not in the Action figure/Transformers Section, try searching all the endcaps.

I think this is big news, in Big W, the Protoforms are a dollar cheaper than the normal classic deluxes and get this, they are labeled TFORMERS MOVIE DELUXE. so, they came down a dollar at Big W. ^_^

Still not sure about these - $20 is okay I guess, but they don't appear to be selling like hotcakes - I've been to a few stores and several K-marts and they're not really moving... even with the reduced price!
