Are there many G1 Minibot homages?

Have there been many homages, tributes, updates, etc., of the G1 Minibots? I'm aware of Classics Bumblebee and Cliffjumper, obviously, and Classics Fireflight was apparently going to be Powerglide, but are there many others? I'm not taking about straight repaints like Glyph, but updated molds, name re-uses, etc.

Cybertron Overhaul- is supposed to be a homage to Brawn (a sucky one IMO)
Alternator Windcharger-is an updated Windcharger (natually)
Engeron Beachcomber-an homage to Beachcomber (natually)
Engeron Engeron-Ironhide (another possiable homage to Brawn)

Those are the only ones that I can think of for the moment.

#-o How could I forget that one?

I didn't know about the others, though. Thanks.

Alt and G1 Windcharger have nothing in common aside from the name and color. :? That's actually an Omnibot homage, as you can tell by the BT name, Overdrive.

Swerve (one of the Brawn remolds) got an alternator version (with new head sculpt), a Universe version (repaint of Armada Blurr) and a Cybertron version (repaint of Clocker).

Outback showed up as a recent Botcon exclusive (renaimed Fallback), I think he was a repaint of Energon Strongarm.

Actually I think Energon Energon Ironhide was an homage to hound.

Agreed. The Green color scheme, and the white star on his hood/bonnet, give it away.

Not a homage mind you, but Super-Link Widncharger(translucent plastic remold of Energon Combiner Perceptor) does carry the Windcharger name.

Also was Cyb Shortround supposed to be a Seaspray homage?

Not really, the only thing they really have in commen is that they are hovercrafts and have the hovercraft engines behind their heads.

EDIT:
There was a proposed but never developed classics Cosmos.

Alt Decepticharge is actually a homage to G1 Windcharger. Take a look at his head mould and you'll see a cross between Windcharger's toy and toon appearance.
Even his name is part homage to Windcharger, basically being Decepticon + Windcharger = Deceptichrge.

At the moment I'm in the middle of repainting alt Windcharger and Deceptichare to turn them into Windcharger and Dragstrip.

Whisper was kind enough to whip up this image to demonstare how Alt Windcharger should look.

(For what it's worth I'm also currently repainting Classics Fireflight into Powerglide)

Since you also asked about updates of G1 minibots I think the takara minibots reissue set counts since the Bumblebee from that set has a new toon accurate face.
Would the 4 G2 minibots also count as updates since they got new chromed up colours? (Gold Bumblebee, Green Beachcomber, Blue Seaspray and Red Hubcap.)

Ohh o.k. maybe if they add a bit more yellow instead of white to him, he could pass for an upgraded Seaspray.

Cosmos yeah, the concept sketches we saw, looked really cool. If only Hasbro would bring the classic line back after the movie hmmm. One can dream can't one?

Because he's a homage to Overdrive.

In Japan Armada Perceptor is called Bumblebee, while Energon Perceptor is called Cliffjumper.

There was an unrealized Universe Brawn BotCon toy, i've seen the designs.

Armada Sparkplug is an obvious Bumblebee homage.

Cybertron Armorhide seems like a Pipes Homage.

Cybertron Mini-Con Reverb is called Bumper in Japan, the shortened name of Bumblejumper.

There is an Armada Mini-Con called Cliffjumper.

Quoted for Truth. The head is a dead ringer for Overdrive. The reason why he's called Windcharger is because Hasbro couldn't secure the rights to the "Overdrive" name. So they named him after his remold, Windcharger.

Speaking of which, Japan reused some of the Mini-Bots' names, all for Armada and Energon Perceptor:

A-Perceptor= Bumble (Bumblebee)
C-Perceptor = Cliffjumper
Windcharger (Toys 'R Us exclusive, each piece seperate)

And to top it off: Frenzy from Micron Booster 2. I know, he's named after a Cassettecon, whatever :P

Wow, how many recolors and remoulds has that Perceptor mould gotten?

It seems its been repainted into every conceivable color, and translucent plastic too.

The Energon Perceptor mold came in original energon colors, 2 recolors in Japan, and the one for Cybertron. Plus the original was repackaged in Universe boxes last year, but it had original colors. So that's 4 colors variantsI know about - plus there is that giant energon Highwire toy.

I didn't know of his BT name, and I've never seen the toy in robot mode, but name reuses are still good enough.

Swerve was a remould of Gears. There was only one Brawn remould, and that was Outback.
