Movie Swindle's head ... any suggestions?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if any of you have the Swindle figure from the Transformers Movie line? His head is on a ball joint but the head won't "pull up" like it is in the Hasbro photos on the box. I was able to pop his head off but pulling on the ball joint to pull it out/up doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions or is this just poorly designed? As you can see from the pictures I attached to this image, Swindle's head on the actual toy can't pose like it is in the stock photo because of this problem.

hard to say but my guess is its the auto-morph thingo, in the pic you showed it looks like his arms need to be pushed in at the shoulder, maybe that triggers his head to pop.

I think the roof on his back may need to be pulled down and that may push his head up, like a see-saw lever or something.

The head unit doesn't have anything to do with the roof panel or the arms. The head is simply spring loaded and rotates around to go inside where the engine should be. I'd like to take it apart but it would require knocking out some pins and such. It seems like the ball joint for the neck was shortened at some point and now the head won't pull out all of the way.

I guess I'm looking for advice from people who snagged this figure early. Just someone to say that their figure has the same problem so that I don't have to worry about whether or not the figure is mistransformed.

Nope ... the head unit is completely separate from the rest of the body. It just swivels from the head being inside the engine compartment to being on the hood of the car.

I just picked him up today, but I won't be able to open him and provide feedback until about 5pm tomorrow. If no one helps by then, I'll let you know.

Does Swindle's head launch anything? That black piece on his head looks like a button. His whole head looks like a missile launcher.

I say take it off and put a different one on :D

Seriously though, if they have cut the neck down a bit, I don't know what can be done without diving into complicated kitbashing.

Could you put some pictures of the head unit up close, and a pick of the neck area without the head on? If I could see the part, I might be able to think of something...

I so have to get this figure. Aside from the lens head, it's a pretty decent figure.
Also, I do think you need to push those arms in a bit more. It has nothing to do with the head, I know, but you know...

All I can say is that they always seem to use better things that will hold up well for the packages.

It might not even be the same toy. :?
