Third party toy maker iGear has posted a new blog entry on their site teasing yet another apparent toy they're working on, a scaled down G1 Sharkticon. The figure is about 1/2 scale to the original toy and appears to be more in scale with the Classics/Universe figures along with MP Grimlock. While the color scheme is very G1 accurate, it does appear to have more detail than the original toy.

This is actually pretty cool. I may actually get this. Makes a better Grimlock accessory than the mug.

Assuming I can get this cheaper than a G1 Sharkticon, I will buy it.

While it may be more accurate color-wise, it doesn't seem to have any added articulation compared to the original.

I'd like to have a Sharkticon army!

I have 3 G1s but these seem to fit the classic line better.

I bet they will be expensive. My guess is $89 for a 3 pack.

Pretty sweet! I didn't know that Legends Wheelie was the right size to sit on MP Grimlock. Not that I have either figure.

About the Sharkticon, these little dudes are pretty cool. I have to admit, for fan-made toys, iGear's toys look good, from what I've seen.

This.

Hell, all the Quints are made by 3rd parties. Why not these? Although this does push them into actual KO teretory.

They have a lot of good ideas, but very little finished products.

so to date, what exactly has IGear created that has been sold, and what has been planned and never sold??

this will help me to determine if I should get interested in their products..

Do want.

The work that 3rd party Transformers companies are making.... We've got iGear, FansProject, and TFCToy, and all of their work is just freaking amazing.

Nice.

I've never had a Sharkticon before, and I'd be interested in these, but I'd prefer more articulation to just a rescale of the original design.

I will be very interested to see how/if Hasbro reacts to this. I'm sure some of the Fans Project folks are curious to see the response too. What happens here may impact if/when we see FP produce their Springer and Wreck-Gar figures.

QFT.

I kinda want one, but I'm waiting to see if the stuff I've already preordered gets done first.

Been thinking about picking up a Sharkticon on eBay and making it show accurate myself, but I keep putting it off.
I've a feeling I'll still get done first. 8)

Why not make the alligator robots (allicons?) from the movie instead of the sharkticons that already exist as toys!! I've been wanting somebody to do that forever!!!

I feel it's worth noting that Fansproject isn't dumb enough to actually call their "KO"s by their namesakes....

I feel like it's worth nothing that iGear calls this "IG-TF005: Shark Sentry"; we're the ones calling them Sharkticons.... :-B

If they can bring these in for about $20 or so a pop (seems reasonable considering the price point on both the Justitoys WST Dinobots and iGear's own Autoscout) I could see myself getting a small horde of them. I've always loved the design, and they'll look great with my Impossible Toys Quints... and I don't really care about the articulation in 'bot mode, since they will almost never leave Lots Of Teeth mode....
