ACToys gives us a nice look at FansProject's D.I.A. Commander Set. The D.I.A. Commander is very similar to TFCon Exclusive Powered Commander, meant for Classics/Henkei Optimus Prime. The Commander set was originally made for Classics Ultra Magnus, under the name City Commander, which was also repainted to fit with SDCC Exclusive Nemesis Prime, under the name Shadow Commander.

The differences between the TFCon Exclusive Powered Commander and this D.I.A. Commander is the chrome applications on the D.I.A. commander.

Chrome looks junky on it.

Sigh... the fact that they are actually making this slightly ticks me off as it's a practical snub to anyone who got the TFCon set thinking it was an exclusive and it completely snubbed TFCon.

Pass.

I got a question about the powered commander set...

does the powered commander set have the same drilled upgraded things and joint fixes they did on the shadow commander set??

I have mine as you saw in my collection photos, but I haven't opened it yet..( I am at home, it is at my office) and I was also wondering what are the mold upgrades they did?

like say what is the Difference between the city commander set I bought and the powered commander set..

I know D.I.A. is the same except for the chrome..I am assuming..Oh and your news announcement forgot to mention the Energon Briefcase that the powered commander set has that is another difference to the D.I.A. and it makes me as a Powered commander owner feel allot better if it is mentioned more often that Powered commander in addition to not having the chrome comes with the briefcase... something Happily D.I.A. doesn't have..

could someone in the news dept. please add that little bit to the news announcement.. please.. if nothing else.. it makes me feel better about all this reissue stuff.. [-( especially if they rerelease the city commander and do it better with whatever upgrades to the mold they did with these newer ones.. :BANG_HEAD:

I have a love/Hate thing going on for FP Right now..

I... disagree. I think the chrome there looks far better than the chrome on the Henkei Convoy. So the rumored extra is what? Different stickers in greyscale I'm assuming. You know as much as I appreciate and enjoy these armor sets, I wish they'd get other product out now. I'd like to see some protos of the Rodimus upgrade already. Of course, I might just be spoiled with this, the Superion add-ons and the Convoy trailer. These should all be hitting very soon.

Okay so I just noticed that the new D.I.A. commander has different deco's on the trailer..

Here is a shot of the Henkei Prime (which I have) and the Powered commander trailer:

and here is the D.I.A. Version's redecoed design to match Henkei Prime:

Honestly for those of us who own the powered commander set.. I think ours is much better.. that side blue with the stripes just looks too plain and incomplete.. am I wrong?? :???:

I agree. The D.I.A. Commander just looks really plain. I think the robot mode is missing paint apps too. Specifically on the arms.

Has anyone else found that the mount for the ion cannon (left shoulder) doesn't hold the gun? Is this the same on City Commander as well?

I wouldn't be surprised.. I suppose in trying to make the D.I.A. commander more closely resemble the Henkei Prime, they ended up missing the point.. their powered commander Deco matched both Henkei Prime and Classics Prime.

for those who own the powered version...

just be glad you didn't end up with a lesser valued piece..

if you value chrome, then you loose out on the deco, But you Match Henkei Prime..

if you value the non use of chrome for fear of flaking, like the extra Energon Briefcase, prefer the current deco design, and match both Classics and Henkei Prime..
then powered commander is your winner! :APPLAUSE:

however,

If you did miss out on the powered commander, and just must have this set.. then you are lucky to get this chance, and I am glad that someone can also get one..

Don't forget, powered commander also comes with those huge TFcon stickers for the sides of the trailer along with the energon briefcase. And the program guide had PC's more than meets the eye profile included.

did you get a program guide included with your auction you won? Because it wasn't part of the box set.

I could email you a scan of the program guide if you want Skywarp-2, just send me a PM when you have time. Either that or there should be a scan somewhere on the Internet.

JUST great #-o ...this thing has missile launchers on his shoulders (making his almost cartoon accurate) my city commander doesn't have any. and i can't buy the g1 magnus just for it's missiles, it's a waste of money

I'm sure he just meant that the Igear upgrade set is the thing he's most interested in..

and the G-1 Ultra Magnus is a great and wonderful Brick bot.. a classic.. and not ever a waste of money..

though i never bought one.. Had it as a kid..

and Micron legend Magna Convoy is about as close to a brickformer as I will ever go..

I was waffling on this for a while, but I think I'm going to pass, as two each of City Commander and Shadow Commander (to display in each mode) is enough for this tool.

Now, if they retooled this a bit to give us something that looks like Ginrai/Powermaster Prime's armor I'd be all over, under, beside and within it. Ginrai/PM Prime is my favorite Autobot ever and I really want a Classics-style one that is Not a Brick.

This also makes me with that Hasbro had managed to justify a blue repaint of the Classics Prime mold....
