Saw this earlier.
It's very cool.

Transformers ROTF Lockdown design art

Seibertron.com member astrobard found a drawing of the upcoming Transformers Revenge of the Fallen deluxe Lockdown figure.
This art may or may not be taken from the official Hasbro design sheet for the toy as the scan does include Hasbro copyright information. Interestingly the scan seems to be taken from a book page and contains head sketches of other Transformers and two fembots one of which somehow resembles G1 Arcee and the other seems to share similarities with Transformers Animated Sary.

This may be one of the only Movie figures I buy...

It doesn't look like a Movie/ROTF design at all... I'd sooner classify this as Universe to be honest.

Not that I mind, as I prefer the more chunky designs, but he does stick out a bit for a ROTF.

All in all, they're making a Movie figure from an Animated mold. The image is from a San Diego Comic Con design book, and the heads are RotF Mindwipe, Brakedown and Skystalker, all figures that were revealed at SDCC.

Why do birds suddenly appear...every time you are near?

Oh, Lockdown. He's so dreamy.

I'm liking the look. I'm glad the spikes are retained in the design.

I'm definitely getting this. His face sculpt is SO badass. He'll look great standing next to his animated counterpart. Still, what a random choice to remake for the movie line. Is Lockdown really that popular? He had like 3 repaints and 2 activator toys already.

Wha-wha-wha-WHAT!?!

Hold the phone! There's a ROTF Mindwipe coming out?

You'll be telling me they'll be making Chromedome, Apeface and Snapdragon next!

But there's no way he'd be a Headmaster. And no way he'd turn into a bat, not in the ROTF line...

This could be the best news or the biggest disappointment of the year for me, TFwise.

He's not a headmaster, and he's a stealth fighter/bomber plane design... but his robot mode does still have some design elements (from what I've seen) that are bat-ish, personally I think he's a must have for me.

That Lockdown art is awesome, I can't wait for better pics of the figure

He looks a lot like animated lockdown. I hate animated lockdown.

Concerning Movie Mindwipe, didn't hasbro say he'd be able to combine with one of the scout figures? I can't remember the name of the figure, but it was a little odd shaped jet. Maybe that's a reference to his headmaster origins.

even if they designed a movie Lockdown, that can't change the fact that Transformers Animated was canceled.

Only the show was. And it wasn't "canceled", it was "completed".

The toyline, however, isn't dead. for new figures under the Animated label will be released later on in 2010.

Hot

Is it a bad thing that I care more about Lockdown than the fembots? :P

Yes, Mindwipe's jet mode can combine with another, scout-class figure, to make a larger jet. To me, it reminds me a bit of Smokescreen & Darkwing, from Generation 2...

While his alt-mode is as mentioned before a Stealthbomber they did somehow manage to let it look bat-like.
I bet he and his combiner partner will get a repaint into G2 Dreadwing.

That looks like well done fan art, but nothing else. The manga-style Arcees gives it away.

I don't think we'll see that version of Lockdown in our shelves anytime soon.
