Ikea has wonderful cabinets. I got a DVD/CD shelf white/birch on my wall with a non lamp in it and it shows my figs up beautifully. and they are well protected from dust. the other cabinet I have is a walnet and glass cabeinet. I added the back on it and, again, it is wonderful protection.

I highly recommend a caninet with fairly close fitting doors. this way you can reduce the dust on your figures. the dust in my appartment is really bad because it gets a bit greasy and the extractor fans don't get it all out well. The final cabinet is a small nick nack shelf made of glass and brass. I use that for displaying my HOC seekers.

and finally there is one small glass case I drop Protoform Starscream in for now.

also, other than the small display and the glass case, I can set it up to lock both main cabinet.

Please note the long cabinet is completely full I have not had time to get a new pic yet.

The Ikea series that you probably want to check out is the Detolf cabinet. It's all tempered glass with optional lighting, and goes for $60 USD. Should be available in Ikea UK too. I have these myself and they do the trick.

Depending on your home decor (or if you care), you could also go a slightly more expensive route like I did--I got tow oak barrister bookcases and installed magnetic child locks on the lower doors to keep little hands out of them... The wood color goes well with the office where they're displaying my G1 figures, Classics, Alts. and Masterpiece figs. I'll see about a pic if I get the chance...

Detolf Cabinets from Ikea. They cost around £35-40 at both online and their stores. I'm getting one for my collection when I move in about 3 weeks time

Marvellous. any idea if the shelves are adjustable, and can you add more shelves- want a brave max on one!

unfortunately not...the shelves are not adjustable, but they are set at a gap of 33cm each. It'd be best to put the Max on the top shelf. What you see is what you get with the Detolfs I'm afraid...and each shelf has a weight limit of 6 kilos

Had a look online and they look evenly spaced so that should be ok. Shame ikeas shopping basket seems to be being so shite at the moment!

Argos is another alternative.
I like these ones but there are some more on their website...

I have the silver finish version myself. The shelves are adjustable and it keeps most, but not all, dust out. There is a light in it but it isn't that bright.
I'll add a pic so you can get an idea of the size.
