ok I took him out of the box as promised.
let me tell you, he is the hardest skill TF I have
transformed so all you guys talking about
MP Megs, well my hat goes off to ya! I don't know how
you guys do it, this is my limit.

his alt mode, Leonardo was right, he REALLY feels like
a cybertronian blaster. I don't feel nerf at all.
it must be the detail...

the gun is small for my hand as expected,
but doesn't bother me.

how bad is his colors? bad. definitely not good.
but not horrendous.

green eyes... well when you make him light pipe,
and see them glow, there is no complaint!

scope... blurry, but still kinda works, not bad.

his wings, let me tell you, in pics he looks like a dork,
in real life, they compliment him.
standing next to Vector Prime he looks kinda puny,
the wings is what makes him look a little meaner,
a litter bigger, a little more leader-esque!

minicon compatibility, well, little dissapointed that
his ports are kinda crappy, so not too well,
but the pegs work PERFECT!
his cannon can sort of accept minicon pegs as well.
AND his hands can sort of hold minicon pegs
and energon weapons.

his chest can stash something REAL tiny.

as you know his articulation and poseability is GREAT!
he is pretty strong for a toy
that has complex transformation unlike MP Meg.

compared to Vector Prime???
he looks weaker other than his HUGE cannon...
I don't know which toy I like better...

I can see myself taking classic Meg to go see the movie
but not any other TF!

i thought classics megs.. aside from the colors, was a pretty good toy in general. he is a pull and grab to xform, and i think his face seems japanese warrior-esque, i have seen some repaints on transtopia that make me really like classics megs

classics megs, to me, is the best classic out there and i have all apart from mirage, grimlock astrotrain and cliffjumper. I was almost about to stop collecting transformers a while back because i couldn't see any good reason to continue, i had all the transformers i wanted since i was a child, the movie figs look crap apart from real gear and the only remaining grails i have are a good condition G1 grimlock and G1 soundwave.

the passion for collecting was starting to die, then while i was in the entertainer (a toy shop) i just saw classics megs and stood there for a good 10 minutes deciding if i should buy him or not, i saw prime as well but the extra arm kibble i had seen on all the pics just made me sick (hasbro not sorting that out was just plain lazy if ya ask me.)

so i thought "hell this is the first version of megatron they created in the form of a gun since the original" and bought it. Took it home, opened it and i was just amazed with it, they made a bot mode that was awesome aswell as a pretty nice gun mode.

I also had the Nerf gun that megatron resembles (Nerf N-Strike Maverick in case you're wondering) and really liked the design of the gun alt mode and i actually like the "wings" in bot mode. Naturally, i pose his arm cannon above his arm.

classics megs reignited my love of transformers and a month later i found that after the initial classic meg purchase, i also had 5 other classics, masterpiece megs and a reissue astrotrain.

ah... it feels good collecting again...

Why does everyone want to cram minicons onto figures that don't need/require them?

Classics Megatron is great for what he is and he makes a decent stand in for the Alt line. I still wish they had gone with different colors though.

Yep Classic Megatron is an awesome figure and one of the best incarnations of Megatron I have ever seen especially if you remove the orange caps. I bought two one I repainted and gave a G1 colour scheme too and the other I removed the orange caps: here are the pictures enjoy:

Are you writing in prose I'm not familiar with?

Now that CL Megs repaint is really nice!
I've seen a few with sliver grey rather than whitish grey, but IMO the whitish grey.

I suggest the red limbs on the upper arms, the look killer.

And as soon as I find the right screw driver, those wings are coming off!
They don't look too bad, but he looks much better without the wings, and his stability is far greater.

Thats what I thought. I repainted my classic megs. Blackened the orange caps and inside of the wings except for the bits that can be seen in gun mode. He looks great.

Hasbro should take note

The law prevents Hasbro from doing as much, but it's a shame Takara never made a version of him.

all I can say is that mini-cons is what brought me back
to buying TF toys again.

my mini-cons are the center of my collection
so naturally, I like to get bigger bots
that can display my mini-cons.

I have him too! And I agree he is hard to transform, however as I said before my 11 yr. old son can whip right through their transformation modes!
