Very first Transformer!

PostPosted: Sat May 19, 2007 6:10 pm
by Zombie Starscream
I have just acquired my very first Transformer, an MP Starscream. I have applied some of the stickers already, and have set him up on his base. He will not be my only Transformer, but most likely though he will be one of a very few. I want to get an MP Skywarp and if it ever comes into existance, an MP Thundercracker. If there is one or two more figures that exude absolute awsomeness, I might get them, but no more.

What I want to know is, is there any weak points on this figure I should be aware of when I transform him? I don't want to accidently break him, and if MP Skywarp (and possibly MP Thundercracker) will have the same weaknesses, then I would like to know before I do anything stupid. I know he is very fragile, and I know some people have accidently (or nearly so) broken theirs and I want to avoid possibly making the same mistakes. And is it possible to find the directions, translated, anywhere? I want to still apply some of the rest of the stickers and make mine realistic, and I think the directions show where some of the stickers go.

Thanks :P

I don't know about Screamer, but if you like him, you will LOVE MP-01/02/04 Optimus Prime/Ultra Magnus. I have the Hasbro versions, and it is one sweet piece of TF!

There is already a MP Skywarp in developement. Just a repaint of course but good news for those that want and can afford it. MP-05 Megatron is a great figure too.

The weak points are going to be the extremely thin wings. But overall I haven't found mine to be very brittle or fragile. Of course I don't play with him much either. Transformed him about 3 times and that was enough. I tend to treat him with the same care as some of my model because frankly he feels like he was molded from the same plastic. Of course I have lots of other transformers to play with so no biggy.

378 posts on a TF site, and you just got your first one? Wow... :???:

I don't have 'Screamer, but I've had the first 20th Anniv. Prime (darker red/blue, battle "burns") for years now, and it's my most prized possession. I can't wait to get Megatron (even though I've heard some horror stories)...

So, if you like SS, at least get Prime & Megs.

The problem is, people say 'I'll just get this one'. But then it becomes 'I'll just get this handful'; and before you know it, your room is filled with tfs and you work 4 jobs to feed your habit.

Can't get enough of that wonderful stuff! That delightful plastic crack! Transformers- robots that take over your life!
:D:D:D

lol
Buy more tfs, you know you must!

QFT! I was only gonna get Alt Shockwave. Then Alt Swindle. Then Micron Tidal Wave. Then ... and so forth. Now they've taken over a good sized shelf. Congrats on your screamer. If you like that, definatly try and get the Prime version.

Oh I would love to have him! :P I've seen he has an apathetic expression on one side and an aggressive expression on the other side. Though I've heard various comments about his 'aggressive face' how it looks kind of funny with the snarl because his eyes don't match. I wonder what Thundercracker's expression would be if they ever make him?

Yup,and I've still yet to transform him :P He is in jet mode, exactly the same as when he came out of the box. If Voltron counts as a Transformer, then Starscream is my second ever. If not, then Starscream is my first.

It depends on how big Prime is. I have very limited space, and thus one of the reasons for a very few Transformers. An eventual grand total of 3 (or even 4 or 5) may not sound like a lot, but a limited amount decreases their chances of winding up in the Basement of Doom, where they might end up being mildewed to death. :P I really, really love Seekers, they are my major favorite, but I plan on getting the MP versions only and maybe a possible one or two other characters of the MP variety. They might end up being Megs and Prime, but I still will have to see.

Prime is about 12 inches tall, and no collection is complete without him. Words simply cannot describe the awesomeness of him!

Is he mostly diecast? I love diecast!

Eh... he's about 65/35 plastic to diecast. The blue of the legs and the chest doors are diecast. It's enough to give him some heft.

Yeah he has quite alot of die cast to him. His upper torso is all die cast, like the whole cab is die cast, so are his opening chest doors. The blue section of his legs are die cast as well, but he has a good bit of plastic to him too but its high quality.

Show off. :P

However i just added two new additions to my collection today. A Tit Soundwave and an Alt Silverstreak.

At this rate i should have a pretty hefty collection by the end of the year, my top shelf has already run out of space to stand all my TF's on.

Fortress Maximus. Biggest TF ever made.

Fortunately my collection is spread throughout the house so I don't really notice how much space it really takes up. Though knowing that there are portions of it in every room except the bathroom and kitchen doesn't help either. The bulk of it is in my sons room just out of his reach. At least the ones I don't want him to reach anyway.

Slight correction, that particular Maximus is Brave Maximus. He is the Car Robots (RiD) version. No mold differences really, he's just different colors.

I got him for $99 bucks a few years back. STEAL!

Ah, just glanced at the pic thought it was gray and white.

My son is 4. Thus technically to young to play with them. But he does have a toybox filled with the Armada, Energon, and a handful of Cybertron figures. The ones I keep out of this reach tend to be the more fragile or the nicer ones that I don't want him to possibly break. Even though he has never broken any of his toys. Though he does tend to be hard on them on occasion. All in all he takes better care of them than I did at his age. Which is a good sign.
