TFCC Nexus Maximus: To Complete or Not to Complete

So I've been battling with this for a while now. Being a newbie to the TFCC, I only have Topspin and Heatwave of the set and was debating on completing the gestalt.
Looks like its only gonna cost me big to get Skyfall, but should I even bother? I don't like the head for NM very much but I do like the individual figures for their translucent red and blue, but then again I can just sell the two I got and use it for other cool TF stuff I can't afford either, like the Aerial Team Appendage add on that I've been trying to scrape the cash for for weeks now. (Wife not working really hurts the TF Budget).
So, I turn to you Seibertronians, who never steer me wrong, for your incite on this so I can make the decision.

I say go ahead and just keep the two and try to find good deals online to complete the set. I only have Heatwave atm, and I'm anticpating to complete the set for my display in the near future.

Hmm, I'm a TF collector newb so I don't know how much I can help out but I'll try!
I too like the individual exclusive figures. The red and blue transparent and translucent plastic looks nifty. I especially like the Landquake and Breakaway figures for their standalone appearance.
I think you have to ask yourself if you think you'll really enjoy and appreciate the combined form. That's one of the main reasons to get this set, right? You've said you don't care for the gestalt head so that's one point against the combined form. But you also said you like the look of the figures individually so that's a point for completing the set.
Do you want the figure for its exclusivity or is that a non-factor in this?
Do you have room for the figures in your budget? Are they worth re-organizing your budget to afford them? That's a big factor to consider too because, they're not cheap. Like you said, you could sell the two you have to be able to afford other things like the ATAK.

Its easy, if you have Superion you can borrow 2 of the limbs from him to combine with Heatwave and then you just need the tank Landquake.
But you should be able to get the idea of the finished product.
The Molds are great, but I'm not sure how much I'd be willing to pay for just the translucent plastic.

I would probably hold on to them and keep an eye out for deals on the other limbs. And even if you eventually decide you don't want them, hopefully they'll have gone up in value.

I don't rally like the combined Nexus Maximus so I have them separated on a "god shelf" with Primus, Unicron, Alpha Trion, the 3 different Vector Primes & Logos Prime plus stuff like Vector Sigma and the Animated Allspark. They really help add scale to the largely Supreme and Voyager class figures.
I'd get them but not rush it. If money's tight just wait. They'll still be there on eBay later!

Something to consider is that you can get two of the three reamaing limbs you'd need to complete Nexus Maximus, those being Landquake and Breakaway, through the TFCC store for $20 each, provided your club subscription is still current. That's not a bad deal. Then you can just keep an eye on eBay for a good deal on Skyfall. If you later decide to complete Nexus Maximus afterall, Landquake and Breakaway may be sold out by then at the TFCC store, so you'll end up spending even more. It's a pretty safe bet that collectibles like Transformers figures only increase in value in the after market, so if you're going to get something anyway, get it sooner rather than later.

I quite like Nexus Maximus, and would recommend getting the figures. I didn't like the head at first either, but now it's grown on me and he makes a cool colour-coordinated Gestalt.

Best five year plan I've ever gone through with. I don't like the red plastic on Heatwave or Topspin as much as I do compared to say, Skyfall or Breakaway but I do like them all. I think I like them better separated more then I do combined, if only because of the lack of translucent red on Heatwave and Topspin.
Now, if FansProject pull a rabbit out of there hat and give us a Bruticus upgrade kit and a Nexus upgrade kit then I'll take back every single mean thing I've said to anyone I've ever talked to in the last 5 years. Except Archibald Witwicky... that guy was a doucher.

He had his doucher moments.
As for Nexus Maximus, had I not been a club member for the past five years, I sort of doubt that I'd go through the money and effort needed to amass the set via eBay or Carbombya or wherever. I really enjoy mine, but in the long run, I think for me the real appeal of the toy was getting a piece in the mail every summer. The translucent plastic is super nice, and the gestalt head isn't the biggest of deals to me. I like it, but all in all it may not be worth the effort. But it really is a personal call, you know?

Another thing Im considering is the fact that I got 2 Energon based Decepticon gestalts and only one Autobot gestalt. NM could serve as my second Autobot gestalt that Im having a hard time trying to find a fill in for.

Superion add-on, seriously? I thought you HATED your Superion....
For right now, just hang onto what you have unless someone wows you with an offer. You're not going to get a lot trade-value wise unless someone isn't a club member.

Oh jeez thanks TT, I just dropped 50 bucks for the other two. lol.
Maybe I'll get lucky and get him for a reasonable price.

Don't spend excess on him. He shows up regularly at BBTS. I have 3 myself, and might part with one for a low, low price...(loose version)...make me an offer.

Do you think that after they finish this combiner this year, they'll start with a new combiner next year? Or is next year's figure Punch/Counterpunch?

I thought from what has been said the C/CP will be an exclusive to the club, but not the subscription piece. As they were still formulating what that would be.
Hopefully something better than what the Joe club is getting. BigLob? Really? Fail.
Luckily I have 3/5 of Nexus and Breakaway will be ordered shortly, but i'm kicking myself that I didn't order Topspin before it sold out. Any chance you have any spares TT24?

I actually only ever got one Topspin myself. By that time I decided I did not have money for extras. Sold out? That seems amazing to me. I did not think these were that popular.

They got a lot more popular when Heatwave came out. Suddenly, all the people who'd passed on them for 5 years want a translucent combiner on their shelf!

Another combiner wouldn't surprise me, as they want to encourage lock in, i.e. I've been a member for three years, I only need two more pieces to finish.
I would give just about anything for Black/Red/Gold Bullet Trains.

I've been thinking of joining the OTFCC this year to get in on their club giveaway figures. If they made this next run Team Bullet Train, I'd join for sure!

Yea, not to muck up your deal with FirstGen because I know you'll hold to your reasonable price offer on Skyfall...
but have you looked at the prices for him lately?
Do you know what figure all the foreign dealers at BotCon were offering $80-100 in trade for was?
le sigh...

Well, hopefully Tiger will find the spare Skyfall for me. Ebay has him the cheapest at 90 bucks buy it now but shipping added makes it 120.00.
I guess I should really blame you, Counterpunch, for this as I didn't care for anything Energon before meeting you. Now I can't get enough of it.
Damn u Counterpunch, DAMN U!!!!!!!
