No, I'm not saying I have official news about a new Shockwave figure.
I'm just going bring your attention to something I read on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shockwave_(Transformers)#Movie_toysNow, I know not to believe everything I read on there.
I just want to get some input.
Is this legit? Total BS?
What do you think?

Maybe be possible, but I don't think we've seeing any prototype of this yet. If it does released, I'm gonna buy it for sure.

Haven't heard of anything yet, no discussion anywhere that I can find. It would be awesome if this were coming out though.
Whoever the "Sweetmusprime" is that added it, he/she has never added anything to Wikipedia before (under that username at least), and at first added the year 2009, but then changed it to 2010. Until more info comes out, I'm rather skeptical.

I'm skeptical but hopeful! If there is going to be a movie toy that is based on the game design, that would be a must-buy for me!

Really hoping it's true, but not too optimistic.
From the descriptions, while he's not exactly a G1 re-imagination, at least he's a cool triple-changer. Still no laser blaster, but a gun emplacement's not too shabby.

Without any kind of reference, I'm not going to believe that Wikipedia edit for a second.

False. Shockwave was in the 2007 Movie video game and that's it. If he happens to be put into the RotF toyline, that goes against what Hasbro said in their Q&A. "No toys coming from games anymore" blah blah blah.

I forgot that Hasbro had said that.
Wikipedia entry corrected as of now.

Also take in point that the editor on Wikipedia may have been thinking about the Reissue of Energon Shockwave in the Universe 3.0 toyline, something that could have easily been mistaken for the RotF toyline.

Oh well, there goes the hope for that figure.

Hasbro also said the Purple Arcee was Flare Up, and now it's Elita 1.
I'm not saying that you're wrong, just that Hasbro can change their mind.
Anyway, oh well.
Maybe he can still be in the third movie?

Hope he does appear in the third movie, Shockwave was one of my favorite characters from G1 series. Having my fingers crossed from his appearance and that he doesn't get killed off at all.

So you'd rather trust Wikipedia than a Seibertron News Mod? Tsk tsk...

I wish I could believe that we were getting a movie Shockwave, but as time goes on it really seems like Hasbro just doesn't like the character. We get tons and tons of Soundwave, Optimus, Megatron, and Bumblebee, but Shockwave was a huge G1 character yet he can't get anywhere near a "main character"s number of toys.
God, if we got a movie-verse triple changer Shockwave toy my pelvis would explode into pure rays of orgasmic light >_>.

Isn't Breakaway in the ROTF videogame? Has he also appeared in other related ROTF fiction? If not, that would seem to immediately negate Hasbro's claim of no more toys of videogame characters.

While I don't know when it was decided that Breakaway would be included in the ROTF game, I have never considered that to be his origin-point. Considering that it takes a year or more from concept to production for a new Transformer, and the ROTF game wasn't even officially announced until Feb. 2009, it's more likely that Breakaway is just another ROTF-line toy of a character that isn't in the actual movie. This falls in line with Hasbro's statement that no toys would be based on game characters.

Well the Q&A back in June/July/August or whatever said that they had no more plans to make toys based of the Video Games, so Breakaway was fair game seeing that was decided over 6-7 months ago, not now.

Based on the timing of the figure and game, it's highly unlikely designs for the Breakaway toy didn't exist before the ROTF game.

If we do get one, it better be based of the PSP design!

Much as I'd love a toy representation of the game rendition of Shockwave (damn, was that thing cool), I'm not holding my breath. The factories are too busy churning out Bumblebee and Ironhide repaints to make Shockwave

Besides... given the RotF line approach to "triple changers" (e.g. Soundwave's "3-in-1" modes, and Mixmaster's base mode [which I gave up trying to achieve]), do you think they'd actually manage a proper triple changer in movie style?

It's possible to have a proper triple changer, in the case of Mixmaster, it might be hard because his alt mode is a Earth auto, while Shockwave is of futuristic Cybertronian design.
