KO Devastator Reissue - Diffrence from Original???????????

Recently, there was a new KO devastator with original reissue G1 packaging. This version boast higher quality than those Chinese KOs in the past. My question is as follow:

a) Is there any clear difference between the original genuine devastator and the KO reissue version (aside from the packaging, since the packaging is slightly different in terms of detailing)

b) For the price of US$80 is it worth it anyway?

Attached s the link to the picture of the KO reissue

Prob cheaper plastic and cheaper stickers like most KOs. On a side note, KOs that boasts that it has "higher quality" cannot be trusted, unless you've seen the real product with your own eyes.

@ shonenfan4 you are both right and wrong in that regard.

Some of the labels are indeed of a lower quality but on the plastics, the hi-end K.O looks like this. (Aside from a loose Scavenger foot............looks almost like the real thing)

^That does look like the real thing  I guess the hi-end KOs are a lot different than cheap KOs. :-? Sure hope these sellers don't try to pass of these things as the genuine stuff though.

In that regard you are correct. There are a lot of jerks at ebay who try to pass it of as the real thing.

So Fenrir,

Is US$80 for the devastator KO reissue any worth in your opinion. Is that a good fair price to ask for? As you most proabably own the set, are you satisfied with it?

In the law of Supply and Demand, there IS a Demand in such a small Supply of such units that's why the source is selling them in such a price range :sad: The price IMHO is worth it but the seller must acknowledge first that the unit IS a K.O.and not use such sob stories that they found the unit in such pristine conditions in their grandma's attic and all that cr@p.(Most of which you read/hear at ebay 8-}

Besides that, if you heard the rumors of the Encore Devastator, you may want to put off the purchase if you want to wait BUT.........if that Encore Devastar is vaporware then by all means.......get one.

If you are planning on getting one btw one thing to look out for are spelling errors in the box. :-B

Aside from the flopping left foot of Scavenge, the unit is a great re-creation of the originals. I have no complaints in mine but if the afforementioned Encore Devastar is reality, I'll be getting that one too.

Post script. If you compare the high end K.O. to the G2 re-issues(orange version scr@p #-o which I own) the former is waaaaaaay better in materials used, from the chrome to the rest of the body molding.

What about the yellow Devastator? hi-end KO better than the real ones seems kinda sad. :-(

The easy answer to your question is, NO.

$80 is not worth it. I do not have this KO, but the die cast is not enough to justify $80. If you are looking for a space filler, buy the cheap KO for less than $10.

If you really want the G1, then if you wait long enough, you will find them for less than $80 on eBay. It may be piecemeal, but hey, that's better than dropping $80 on this KO.

I am not against KO's. I got KO Wheeljack for $45 and KO Mirage for $37. These figs are well worth that, because there is no chance in H#ll that Has/Tak will ever get hold of them again.

I don't have the G2 yellow version so I can't accurately give a description on it's quality.

As for the price again, Law of Supply and Demand. Again I'm going back to the Metroplex Encore/KO bruhahaha, when the KO came out just a few months before the real thing, the peddlers of the item sold it at such high prices but when the Encore was sold, well no one wanted to touch them with a 10 foot pole. So what did they do? Repackaged them in Encore boxes 8-} , mighty sneaky

Moral of the story? If Takara WILL release the real thing there will be no impetus to buy a KO right? Then well the vendors will be stuck with a potential "spare parts" set whose price may either drop like arock or maybe sky rocket.

To buy or not to buy, that is the question Or to rephrase that To wait or not to wait.

I remember this incident, as one of my friend got a KO Metroplex from TFsource (who was also a victim of their supplier), good thing it worked out in the end with refunds and exchange.

Thanks fenrir for your insightful comments, I decided to get the set since US$80 inclusive of shipping is not a bade deal considering the crazy prices those vintage pieces are demanding in Ebay right now. Furthermore, for all the KOs I seen, this devastator set most probably rank one of the highest.

Good luck and congrats on your purchase bro'. Hopefully the version you got is the high-end version that is free from problems or QC (except for the loose Scavenger foot)
