Are you sure about that? I'm not saying you're wrong... okay, I am, but trying to be nice about it... but I think you're confusing Ripper Snapper with Blot. I have my original G1 Ripper Snapper on my Desk. Have had it since he came out and have transformed him numerous times over the last 2+ decades and never once did I feel like I would snap off his robot head...
Blot on the other hand, well, I have popped his purple claw off a couple of times, and was always afraid to put his robot head where it belongs in alt mode, because I pretty much thought the head would be long gone.
Well, i hate to correct ya, but i know my G1 stuff pretty well, since that my was era growing up and i still have all my Terrorcons!!
The landshark is RipperSnapper and he forms Abominus left arm and if you dont belive me, check this out:

G1 is my era too and I know them pretty well... and I have all of my Terrorcons as well... but if you are telling me that there is a chance you can pop off Ripper Snapper's robot head, then you must be transforming him wrong, or played with him way too rough. You lift the shark head, over the robot head, and it never makes contact with the robot head. Now if you are forcing Ripper Snapper into Hun-Grr while forming Abominus, then something could go amiss. The only one that I know has a chance of popping off the head was Blot, because the Transformation has you folding his robot head backwards, between his legs, then pushing the legs up. If you didn't line it up right and forced the legs up, well, you probably break the head right off... so when I transform him, I keep Blots head in a position like I'm going to join him to Hun-Grr, then push the legs up, then push the head down so it looks like it's coming out of Blot's rear. Not the best place, but better than Blot having no robot head, at all.
