I'm talking about the toys, not how they appear in cartoon, comic or film. Which TF toy do you think looks coolest and why?

My pick is Alternators Hot Rod. I don't know why though!

Hasbro Fort Max / Takara Grand Max. Simply bc the amount of playability in that thing and the large size of both robot and alt mode.

Off the top of my head I say Classics/Henkei Hound. It's such a perfect personification of the character's G1 essence.

Pick your favorite MP fig, other than Ultra Magnus of course... Prime or Skywarp probably top the list for me.

With a winning combination of articulation, detail, and just simply an awesome shape, I give my money to:

Deluxe: Classics Prowl / Silverstreak / Smokescreen, and RotF Sideswipe

Voyager: Cybertron Evac, Classics Prime / Magnus, and RotF Long Haul

Ultra: Cl/U Silverbolt (despite wearing a jet on his back) and Onslaught, Cybertron Defense Red Alert

Leader: Cybertron Optimus Prime, RotF Optimus Prime

Other: Masterpiece Grimlock, Titanium Thundercracker (and repaints), HA Sideswipe.


And the grand prize winner is.... 20th Optimus Prime / MP Convoy!!!!

That's a nice bonus! But then we get the flaw in the hologram gun as it can't mount well on Hound's shoulder but I still love my Classics Hound.

Galaxyforce Convoy is a standout. very cool robot mode, proper proportion. Btw on Classics Silverbolt, I don't see all the reason for criticizing the mold (except for the lack of combining slots). 'cause in the original, he still is wearing the SST on his back, just like the other aerialbots.

I have the Henkei version of him, the hologram gun fits pretty well.

The only complaint I have about Classics Silverbolt was that why did the Japanese version get G1 colors?

Cybertron Sideways...hands down.

my list would include:

Master Piece Prime- cause well... you know...

RID scourge/Black Convoy- the only TF to derserve the name Nemisis Prime and he doesnt even have that name. I prefer to call him Black Convoy, its a darker emotionless name.

FansProject Ultra Magnus- so impressive they changed the way we look at 3rd party toys, and started the revolution thats going on with them.

Hybrid Galaxy Convoy- Galaxy convoy is cool and all but its super concentrated in this guy, WST scale with all the details of the giant regular version, right down to the cyber keys.

Timelines Airazor- fell in love with this mold the second i saw it. So much in fact I think I became the first person to have one. I had it for (random guess) 6 months before it came out. http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... -now/9642/

I use it as my "Classics Airazor" as she fits in fery well as a classics and fis into my made up continuity.

MP Starscream w/ Coronation Gear- many disagree with this due to him not looking like Starscream in the show.
I agree, to me hes not Starscream, hes the Giant Immortal Emperor Starscream you can tell by the crown symbols on the jet, and the tailfin sheathes for his dual blades. he rules the classics decepticons with an iron fist, and they cant do anything about it, hes immortal after all.

Four candidates, three different universes, two different characters, and one villain.

First up, ROTF OP, or better still, Buster OP. I mean, despite the complex transformation, he still manages to be the best fig yet in the toyline in terms of screen accuracy and articulation.

And let's not forget Cybertron Galaxy Convoy. With all those canons, he's packing enough heat to melt Cybertron down with a single blast. Aesthetically, he's buff, but not blocky--very hard to do for an OP figure, IMO.

Alternity Super Black Convoy gets a place here, too. Cool-looking bot mode, even if he's not a truck this time around.

Last but not least, G1 repaint MP Starscream. If you want a better Screamer, you'll have to make one yourself.

In the end, I'll have to go with MP Starscream, being the SS fan that I am. Accurate weapons, good poseability, and the ability to change his facial expressions just makes him the most displayable figure of all.

Its a four way tie for me. Wreckage/Bludgeon from the movie line, the classics seeker mold, the classics Bumblebee mold, and the alternators Shockwave (I refuse to call him Shockblast)

I chose Hound earlier for his G1-ness so I'm going to choose a more modern design, which would be RotF Stratosphere.

I really dig the robot mode for its uniqueness(I've never seen a Transformer that looks anything like this). Despite its unorthodox features, the overall design is cohesive. I really like the head sculpt. The face possesses the live action movie design sensibility as a less anthropomorphic visage but it isn't overly busy with details like many other movie designs.

Stratosphere has quickly become a favourite of mine! I think I'll write up something for the review thread tomorrow.

Legend - Universe Warpath
Scout - ROTF Ransack
Deluxe - Universe Sunstreaker/Sideswipe
Voyager - ROTF Mixmaster
Ultra - Universe Silverbolt
Leader - Animated Ultra Magnus
Supreme - Devastator (even if I can't figure out wtf is up with Mixmaster's cab hinge)

Sunstreaker/Sideswipe are the highest overall for me, because it's such a clean mold, and it holds true to their G1 counterparts.

Mixaster in a close 2nd, with his seemingly limitless pose-ability. (at least to me)

Energon Bulkhead.

Gundam-esque robot mode with hip missile-launchers FTW.

I totally agree with this. I always loved Hound, and this was a very good representation of one of my all-time favorite characters.

Classics Silverbolt is awesome, just by removing two or three screws you've got a cool robot and a cool plain to play with!

Masterpeices. All of them except Grimlock. The only reason Grimlock is not on this list is because his dino-mode is even cooler.

Seems like MP Grimlock is also easier to transform too, atleast that's what I got from the review videos.

MP Grimlock hearkens back to MP Convoy / 20th optimus in many ways - a thicker, sturdier build, simpler transform, and an emphasis on resembling the cartoon model rather than making him "fancy and realistic". So yes, he has a simpler transform than Megs or the SS mold.
