Unfortunately Hasbro declared that there will be no 'Premium line' for Revenge of the Fallen, back in one if their Q&A's.

Yeah, it's too bad but at least there's Buster Optimus Prime as an option for a premium level repaint.

I guess that's good and bad at the same time. Bad because we wouldn't get better painted ROTF TFs, good because we wouldn't feel cheated by buying the non-premium version.

I think Premium repaints are cool but if Hasbro did a decent job at applying paint apps to the standard figures(and by that I mean actually putting some paint on the robot modes), I don't think I'd care about Premium figures for the most part. The sculpted details are great for every figure, they just need some colour contrast to bring out the features.

^That I agree as well. On a side note, for those that actually got 2007 Movie Premium Blackout, was the face paint on that figure better? Bc the normal 2007 Movie Voyager Blackout's face is like just a blob of paint splashed on.

Knowing Hasbro, yeah. Megatron repaints in the Movie line were scarce with 2007 Movie, and in RotF, I expect they'll at least do something, and something like a RotF Voyager Repaint that doesn't have slime green on it will most likely come out.

I'm kinda surprised people think it's "unfortunate" there won’t be a premium line... The whole premise of a premium line is kind of offensive.

I didn't think it's unfortunate, I'm actually glad that I wouldn't feel cheated like I did in 2007 Movie line.

I wouldn't mind the Premium line so much if it wasn't for the fact that the disparity between the standard issue figures and the Premium figures is so great. You either get little to no paint in bot mode or you get what is only somewhat more than what I'd expect in normal paint apps. A standard RotF figure with an entire forearm or shin without any paint apps or colour variation is a bit offensive to me for the fact that so much great detail is lost in a single colour scheme.

Now there are some exceptions. I don't mind Stratosphere's largely dark red-orange arms but his lower legs could definitely benefit from a few dashes of contrasting colouring, especially on the sculpted coils and pistons just above the ankles.

this is unfortunate. i haven't bought ROTF Prime or Megatron yet becuase i was hoping for a nicely painted premium figure like we saw in 2007. now if i want a nice version of Prime i have to get buster prime and pay way more. and there isn't even an option to get a nice megatron.

You're not missing much by not buying Leader Megatron, I find the Voyager Megatron more appealing than the Leader class.

I wouldn't mind the premium line if they released it from the start. Painting it crappy so you can paint it decent and sell it a second time is bogus.

As someone that didn't buy a single Premium last time around, I can say I most definitely would buy a Leader Prime this time around, even already owning the figure. If they released their own Buster Prime here I'd grab it up.

I have no issue with a Premium line, as long as they tell us in advance that there will be one and what they are planning. Let the kids have the normal figures to beat on and for me to repaint myself. Then give me the factory specials at the end of the line to compliment what I have. I also kind of think the Premium line should be held back for Leader class mostly, with maybe the exception of a voyager or two, such as Megatron. Something not green preferably.

Deluxes are priced as relatively cheap toys and I think we're lucky we get such decent figures as it is now. Sideswipe might look better with more paint, but he's a totally awesome toy as he is, and I've very glad to have got him for 11 bucks.

That's true. I sometimes hesitate to buy a figure because I don't want to be bitten by a better repaint later on. I held off on RotF Voyager Megatron for that reason because while I like the look of the figure, I would like a silver colour scheme. I only want one iteration of the figure so I don't want to have to buy it once simply to have it and then again later on to get a colour I prefer.

This is what I felt like too during the 2007 Movie, where I felt cheated by Hasbro when they released the Premium line. Which is why I refuse to own a Premium figure.
