Optimus Prime (2007) Leader Class problem

Hey all,

I got a silly question that I'm sure there's a logical solution to (but I haven't found it yet).. a found a Leader Class Optimus figure at a thrift store (score!) a month ago, and he transforms great, but his head doesn't want to stay down.

Is there something I need to do to keep his head down while in truck mode? is there a switch, lever or something that I'm not seeing? :???:

All I've done to keep it down (although it's slightly up) is just force it down until the other parts of his truck keep it in place. I'm just curious if there's a better way until I get a copy of his instruction sheet (which I'm told isn't much help).

Cheers!

Nice find. I love the figure despite it being in the shadow of the RotF Leader version.

To keep the head down, you should only have to press down the "grey plastic switch" for the Automorph gimmick on the front of the chest, right smack dab in the center.

There should be a grey plastic component(a sort of clip/tab that is secured by a spring pin) right where the bellybutton would be on a human that will lock in place when you push the "grey plastic switch" all the way down, as far as it will go, to prevent the head component from going back up until you push down on the clip/tab to release its lock.

Edit: I've included two pictures to show what parts I'm speaking of.

First is the "grey plastic switch" in a yellow circle:

Second is the "clip/tab" in a green circle:

So to repeat, press the "grey plastic switch" as far down the torso it will go and then the "clip/tab" should clip into the switch and lock it in place, keeping the head component concealed.

Edit number two: I've included one more picture with the locked clip/tab and switch in a blue circle so you can get an idea of how it should look when the two components are secured.

I bought my 07 Leader OP loose and it was in bot mode when I received it. Well, except the head part, kind of like the picture I linked to with the secured mechanism. I tripped the Automorph by accident and learned how it worked that way, hehe.

Accidental discoveries, gotta love those. I remember my TFA Starscream falling on the ground when I took it out of its box (damn twisty ties and tapes) and the hip+leg bent forward from the fall and bascially half-transformed him alrdy.

You can call it that, I'm actually surprised that his wings and arms didn't pop off.

Convotron, you rock. Thanks so much for the info *and* the pictures!

BTW, the ROTF optimus is downright amazing. I still like my thrift store treasure, but I think the new one just made my christmas list ;)

I need to find myself a thrift store that carries old TFs.
