Since they've made Legends Tankor....

Well gang, last night I picked up Legends Tankor(as well as Depth Charge and Ransack), basically on the principle of "I love that they did this homage, and I want more like it".

So I open him up, transform him a few times, and find he's merely an ok figure, but I still love the homage. So, who wants the rest of the team?

Legends Arcee(are there any pics of her? I haven't seen any) could be repainted into Thrust. They both have a wheel instead of feet, so it would make the repaint that much more logical.

Legend Movie Starscream could make for a cool Jetstorm. Although, painted up right, the Fallen could bear some resemblence.

Springer would be a neat Obsidian.

Strika's the only one that's giving me fits. A six wheel tank doesn't equate to anything currently made, and ROTF Legends Megatron looks to masculine. Legends Bonecrusher maybe? LOC Red Alert? Universe 2.0 Warpath? Legends ROTF Wheelie?

Unfortuneately, Megatron would also be a hard one repaint one, but since he wasn't a "vehicon" per say, it wouldn't bug me if he was left out. Eh, maybe a red and gold repaint of ROTF or 07 Legends Megatron.

So who's with me, who wants to see the rest of the Beast Machines Vehicon cast reborn as repainted Legends  .

I would love to see a Universe "Beast Machines" series of Legends. That would be awesome. I think LoC Red Alert would be an acceptable Strika.

I'm all for Vehicon reincarnations in the Legends lineup. :)

I'm all for buying a load of these and giving one a few extra bits of paint to mark Tankor out from his drones. If we were to get any more Vehicon homages same would apply. I loves me some Beast Machines goodness.

It's probably going to be the ROTF design, because it's going to come out in a future wave, presumably with Wheelie, Soundwave, and Jolt. Far as I know though there haven't been any confirmed pics of her yet.

Yeah I know. :-? However, Scourge could fit the bill. He's not winged, but he's a dragon. The head would also be passable.

Of course, a repaint of 07 Movie Megatron might actually work better than I first thought!

If you squint(and honestly, you do have to squint to see Tankor's homage), you'll notice the body structure of Megabolt Megatron and 07 Megatron are actually pretty similar in robot mode. 07 Meg's alt. mode also bears some resemblence to the Grand Mal's battleship mode too. Well, they're both triangular anyway.

I really like the Megabolt/Megahead mold. It's on my hunt list. I just like the idea of a big ol' head for the alt mode. :) Now I feel like rewatching Beast Machines!

The KB exclusive version is the best.

Hmm, interesting colour combo, hehe. The aqua/cyan jumps out of nowhere and punches you in the face. The vibrancy makes it almost look like it's glowing.

It's got a creepy, rotting vibe like Universe Depth Charge. Zombie Megatron.

Yeah, the green and brown/beige/khaki/gold(hard to tell because of the camera flash) have a more earthy organic vibe and the aqua pops out like something unnatural. It's an interesting visual combination. :)

How did I not know about this? I'm probably one of the biggest Beast Machines fans on this board and I find out now? WTF?

Somewhat Related: I just got a whole batch of BM Happy Meal toys to repaint a show accurate show accurate Nightscream. $5 for him alone or $10 for 11 figures including 3 Nightscreams? Makes no sense.

Man, BM Happy Meal toys? Those are pretty old aren't they? People still have them?

People still have them? I saw most of them at a Toy Fair the other day. Was going to pick them up but laughed and thought it would be better to spend it on something not... Mcdonalds.

Anyways, yeah, Leader Tankor... a Leader Brawl repaint. I sense it coming. Don't you?

Didn't Burger King take over the TF toys for the 2007 Movie and ROTF or no?

Yeah, Burger King did the 07 and ROTF figures, and they also did figures from Cybertron.

McDonald's has done G1(back in the 80's), Beast Wars(5 original characters, plus three exclusive "Transmetal" figures), Beast Machines, Armada, and Animated.

There are also some European exclusive McDonalds's Energon figures, one of which is Unicron.

All in all, it looks likes the licsense flip-flops between them, and there's the odd other fast food chains not as widespread that gets a figure once in a while, like "Rallnox" for example:

Image

TF Wiki's write up:

Available only as part of a Hasbro-brand-names fast food promotion (which included miniature versions of other Hasbro properties like Mr. Potato Head), and labeled simply as "Beast Wars", this toy is an extremely simplified version of the Transmetal Rhinox toy, available only at participating Rally's and Checkers restaurants.
Despite it being... well, look at it... it goes for mad money on the secondary market. Most people didn't realize the promotion even existed until after it was over, and the restaurant chain was fairly small and somewhat regional.

Upon reviewing a few pics today, I would say that McDonald's Transformer figures are usually better than Burger King's. Burger King Movie figures appear to be extremely gimmick laden and rarely if ever transform. The Cybertron figures they had looked horrible, but I suppose McDonald's Armada and Energon didn't look that much better.

The Beast Wars figures look halfway decent and are all original designs(including the Transmetals), the Beast Machines figures are actually MORE show accurate than the retail ones, and Animated figures don't look half bad.

Rallnox looks so very angry. I must have one.

I've come to enjoy the small, less complicated Transformers toys like the ones available at fast food joints. They're fun little toys to have around anywhere. I've been slowly but surely cultivating a Mini-Con addiction. :D

I can imagine. Why aren't they making the Kids Meal toys like they use to? I remember getting Hot Wheel cars and sturdy toys with likable colors when I was a kid.

Everythings still available on eBay. Hell, they were all still sealed in the bags!

How else does one get a Nightscream the isn't Kong sized with the wings on the legs? Or a Rattrap the isn't larger than an actual Norway rat? Or a Megatron that's in his harness not his bathrobe? And the McDonalds Tankor is the best Vehicon toy ever made. Period. I just wish they had done more. Silverbolt, Botanica, Savage/Noble, Strika, Obsidion, the Grand Mal (Big Giant Head), and the Diagnostic Drone would have literally kickedthe sh!t out of the Hasbro line.
