No, I can't convince you. Sorry. I don't own it. Never have, never will. It just does not appeal to me at all. No particular reason, I'd just rather spend my money on something else.

I paid 8 dollars for mine and have no regrets. At the 60 dollar mark, I think I'd have 2nd thoughts.

Buy it. Buy it now. Even if its the reissue. Hell, especially if it's the reissue. It is cool and worth every penny. Before the reissue it went for insane money incomplete. The reissue has a more metallic, less Crayola color scheme and the Minibot Hot Rod is amazingly cool. Buy it. You won't regret it.

Just make sure you have something to put in front of his feet.

I hated him, but that's just me. The highlight of him was Hot Rod.

As I see him, his legs are stationary.
End of story for me.
I remember him going for $500 in the box during the late 90's.
But he is worth $60, I think.
But God Ginrai looks MUCH cooler and can actually kind-of move.

I finally got around to opening my Star Convoy a couple of weeks ago. He has minimal articulation but despite that he is one of those toys you just like. Lots of accessories, lots of hinges and compartments. I havent put batteries in the roller section yet so cant comment on that.

what exactly to the batteries do for him? I do own him, minus batteries and I love him. Sure he's a brick former, but he feels like prime and rodimus mixed.

Well it's a good thing you saw fit to add to the discussion then if you don't have the figure to try convince the guy like he asked.
Eh, I have him and am happy to since my focus for my collection is Primes/Convoys but as a toy he's not fantastic. The reissue is worth the price IMO but not the ridiculous prices the originals go for. The new color details and Micromaster Hot Rodimus are great touches. Having a brand new version of an expensive rarity is another nice point. I can't really try to convince anyone to buy him and I love mine. You should really check out the galleries to give you a better idea of how nice he may or may not be for you and if he deserves a place in YOUR collection.

The batteries make the tracks work so he can roll in truck mode and "walk" in robot mode. The track section also detaches and becomes a vehicle in its won right. Its little touches like that which make it an interesting figure.

If you like Micormasters, get him.
Look at my sig. Star Convoy, back right. MM Hot Rod center, off right.
Yeah, SC has limited articulation, but he is fun. The batteries make him move via the new Roller. My only real complaint is his MM station mode. His head and arms are visible. So I X-form him a little different. I keep the head in the chest, chest facing the feet, forearms facing backwards, shoulder cannons facing forwards, and his gun with plate on the top of the shoulders facing forwards. He now looks like a battle platform, not some weird hybrid X-former robot-base.
