Which version of the Seacon set is easier to find?

I'm really interested in getting hold of the Seacons, as I love nautical-themed Transformers, but I can't seem to find any. Am I better off searching for Piranacon or the God Neptune repaint?
Furthermore, what sort of price can one expect to pay for the set?

Piranacon parts (the bots) aren't too hard to come by on e-bay or a site like Transformerland.com--it just depends how complete you want to be. Most of them have little extras (Overbite's claws and fin, Nautilator's claws, etc.) that drive up the price a little. I got lucky in my hunt, though, so you may, too. Expect at least $120+ for a complete Piranacon, but even that might not include all the weapon stands or character weapons... There are just a lot of pieces out there! I myself have two weapon stands for mine and left it at that.
As for God Neptune, I had been looking at one on BBTS for a while that was incomplete in the box for @ $40, but then lucked into a complete one on e-bay for $60, so I got it. It's a great repaint, but I think you'll have a harder time finding this one, at least in pieces. Mine also didn't come with his sword (his only weapon), but I was able to match the color with some Krylon fusion paint and paint over a spare Piranacon sword--looks great, too!
Good luck!

I got Pirhanacon about a year ago for $85 on eBay with the claws and weapon stands, all combiner parts and sword. A few months ago I got God Neptune complete for $75. I think I just got incredibly lucky price wise on bout accounts, but they are both excellent, and I don't know if I could choose between them. I do like GNs paint better though. If you got the God Neptune route, try to pick up Snaptraps' cannon for some extra gestalt firepower. GN looks cooler that way with gun and sword.

I'm tempted to go for Piranacon simply because the colours go quite nicely with Submarauder and Shortround. But, toy for toy, the God Neptune set looks like a nicer display piece. Decisions, decisions...

I never thought of the Submarauder color scheme. Wow. That would look cool.
Also, if you want Nautilator, he doesn't come in GN white. So unless you got a loose one and repainted it, GN is only 5 figures. Not like Nautilator is anything to get crazy over, but Big P does have an extra figure.

Ooh, I think, price aside, that seals it. Six toys are better than five, I suppose. I have a new mission!

I say save your money and get a complete set the next time one shows up on eBay.
I made the mistake of trying to complete my Seacon collection one at a time. I have them all now, but I'm likely to pay double what I've spent so far just to get the missing accessories... My Piranacon still has no hands. It makes me sad...
Or you could just wait for Hasbro to release the repaints... As if we haven't be waiting long enough already...

Everytime you post about missing Seacon parts, it makes me sad for you. Seriously, becuase I remember reading your post once about really liking them. It's a shame. I guess I just got lucky twice, and even though my G1 is missing individual guns, I don't care about those parts because he's on display in gestalt form. Hang in there Skowl, you'll get those parts eventually.
Wouldn't hold my breath for the reissues though.......didn't someone say they might come out as a TFCC exclusive?

Thanks for the words of encouragement. It's a long-term goal of mine to complete the set... one day... It's a shame that the Seacons are my all time favourite combiners, and I can't even get a complete set. Once I win the lottery, the missing accessories will be mine!
as for the repaints, I don't care how Hasbro releases the set, I'm getting one - I don't care if I need to sell a kidney, I'm getting one!

I almost always see Seacon parts on eBay, but I never pay attention to the prices becuase I don't need them. But I know that they can get super pricey. Have you tried Carbombya or other TF forums? If I ever see loose parts I'll try to let you know. What exactly are you missing?

I keep an eye out just about everywhere, but they do tend to get pricey.
I'm missing Piranacon's hands and feet. Snaptrap's Sword and Gun, Skalor's guns, Tentakil's guns, and one of Seawing's guns.
If you ever do find something, let me know, I would really appreciate it! Thanks a bunch!

It took me almost two years to get Snaptrap's sword that wasn't either sniped from me off of eBay nor was too overpriced to buy until I finally lucked on the one that I did end up winning. I agree you should get as complete a set (I'd say 95%-100%) as you can find.

Just so you know, God Neptune does not come with individual weapons, or stands, and like was mentioned, is missing a member of the team.
I think the parts for the stand are the hardest to find, but the guns aren't the easiest thing either...

I found a no parts set on BBTS for $35, which is missing the god neptune parts and overbite
