To open or not? Discount Stores Universe Line

Over the past year I've picked up a few Universe line Cybertron repack Scouts. Today I got my last one, Undermine. When I first found them last year, I thought it was some awesomely obscure packaging variant, but now I know just about EVERYONE is aware of them, and they feel less cool.

Here's the thing: I'm not an MISB collector. I like to collect, but keeping a ton of stuff MISB just seems like hoarding. But I bought these Scouts to be MISB because I thought they were unique. Now that they've lost their cool factor, I'm still conflicted about opening them.

Thoughts?

I say open them if you want. I'm not a fan of MISB and these little guys deserve a place in your collection.

I'd open them. You said you're not a MISB collector, and those repacks are pretty common in the Family Dollar/Big Lots type stores. So unless you already have them from Cybertron or soemthing, crack em' open!

Not only are they basically repacks... the packaging is meh at best. :P OPEN THOSE SUCKAS, LET THEM BE FREE!

You answer can be found in Toy Story 2.

Well, that's three votes for open. You guys pretty much reaffirmed that it had to be done. Thanks.

It's been many years since I've seen that movie (or the original, which I remember being leagues better)... so, I'm honestly not sure what you're trying to say here.

Do you already own them? If so, don't waste your money on straight repacks. If not, open them up.

I didn't own them before. Initially I swore off the Cybertron line so I could focus on G1, Classics and movie toys, but I've since changed my mind. Thank you Movie Grindcore.

What is the total list of figures you've picked up? I'd be happy to give opinions on each one if you want.

Undermine is sort of 'meh', with an overly simple transformation and face hands. Having mouths for hands may be nice for the ladies, but otherwise, they look sort of silly. His key gimmick is pretty pointless, and looks like a giant erection.

I knew there was a reason I bought it! I mean... he's a lizard, so that's... neat. :o)

Truth is, I plan on opening all of them (Ransack, Scattorshot, Undermine, Brushguard, Override, Lugnut) along with the Dollar General Spychangers (5 of the 6, I'm just missing Jazz) and maybe the 4 Legends. I really like most of the Cybertron toys I've picked up so far. They feel like an extension of the late 80s -master lines.

The Cybertron line is one of the best lines Hasbro has released IMO. So open them, enjoy and take pics...

Well, they're not going to become valuable collectors items if they're made in massive quantities and sold at discount stores, so you might as well open them.

I mean free them from their cardboard/plastic prison!

Done! My shelves are pretty unorganized at the moment though.

A closer shot of the scouts. Though you can't see Activators Cliffjumper or Soundwave, they look great next to each other since they're roughly the same size

EDIT: I don't know why photobucket has these as two different sizes. :?
