deviljones of HK-TF shows off his newly acquired TAW (The Another War) God Swords, made by Third Party Company Perfect Effect. The sword is initially intended to be used by the Classic Prime molds along FansProject's Commander armor, however it can be used by any Transformer figure with the correct fist pegs. TAW-01, is coloured for Powered Commander, TAW-02 for Commander Magnus, and TAW-03 is for Shadow Commander. Take a look at the pictures below.

I'm a bit torn here, not because it's 3rd party merchandise. It's a matter of who actually deserves all the power ups: Optimus Prime or Ultra Magnus. I have none of those, but everything looks so good (hey, nothing beats a gigantic sword). One or the other...

I've heard nothing but bad things about the quality of these.

I'm sorry, but as cool as they look, I'm not getting them.

...then punch them in the face!

I totally want one for my Omega Prime, but $70?!

They look great and I'd love to have a Matrix Blade substitute for my Omega Prime once RiD OP arrives. However, like Mkall, the limited feedback I've read on the product so far indicates poor quality of materials. I'm big on displaying my Transformers and I regularly switch around figures so if this item breaks upon basic assembly and careful usage for the first time as has been reported, it has no place in my collection.

RiD-inspired?

Maybe the blue and purple one, but the red one is full-blown G1-inspired! The Master Sword pwns the Matrix Blade/God Fire Sword!

The gray one, however, is nothing but pure imagination.

I second CP, negative feedback? Has anyone at Seibertron actually gotten a hold of thiem swords yet? My local supplier still hasn't gotten his stock. Once I get mine I'll make an honest to goodness objective review.

Forum members Narc and Im_ruined in the "TAW-01 God Sword Now Available At Robot Kingdom" thread have reported breakages of their TAW-01 God Sword purchases.

They look fine for something around Voyager-Ultra class scale, but for the almost Supreme class Omega Prime, it might look too small.

I was interested in the Nemesis one, but not for that price, and ESPECIALLY not if they're prone to breakage. No thanks. =; Nice box art though, and the swords look great.

JTMitchell87 has a review of the TAW-01B at Youtube.

One thing I notice is that he doesn't handle the product with particular gingerness or care and doesn't mention fragility issues with the sword and its components. That's a relief for sure.

I really like the look of the sword in its combined form and separated pieces. The modular nature of the design is neat. I'm not really a fan of the way that the sword grip is just pegged together, it doesn't seem to be that secure. I think it'll look good with Omega Prime. It's not worth $70 in my opinion but a definite consideration should it go on sale.

If they were cheaper and less fragile, I would probably buy all three.

OK-I'm going to piggy back on Mkall's comments here with a 30 second review as I just received my Convoy God Sword from TFSource today.

I really had high hopes for this piece when I ordered it. Despite some mixed reviews, almost polarizing, I decided to buy the blue Convoy version. When I first got its package out of the shipping box, I noted that it was light, very light. But still, I maintained a sense of optimism.

However, that feeling quickly ebbed away when I opened the package. The clear blue plastic is very poorly done. It's scratched and finger printed as many have noted before my comments. I was able to clear some of them away with a monitor dusting cloth, but it's still not clear and the scratches remain. To put things in perspective, I bought new deodorant today and the clear blue cap that protects the gel inside was not hazy at all, perfectly clear, and scratch free-and it's a piece of plastic that probably cost 3 cents to produce and will wind up in my recycle bin. If the plastic would have been this quality, it would have been light years better.

My feelings didn't really improve during assembly. The hilt piece that snaps in to hold the blade sections was not molded correctly and wouldn't close. With some trimming/shaving with the X-acto blade and a few prayers, I managed to get it together. The hilt extensions seem a bit flimsy too and much care was used to put the three pieces together.

After I got it assembled, I did feel somewhat better about it. Posed with my classics Prime (sans Powered Commander armor for now), it does look pretty good. And I think that posed with the fully armored Prime with the G3 trailer as a backdrop, it'll probably look pretty cool. BUT, overall it's just not a 68 dollar piece. When you think of all the things you can get at this price, it's seems downright silly in retrospect to get it. But I wanted to see it and own it for myself so I knew I was probably spending WAY too much on it.

If you can wait a year or so and pick it up for 35-40 dollars, it might be reasonable for a two mode, fan produced piece. But don't pay full price for it unless you like to live dangerously (as far as breakage is concerned) and you have PLENTY of spare cash to blow.

I'll post pictures soon.
