I'm hoping to find him for less that $80 (hopefully much less), which is the running price whenever I find him on eBay. I've checked all my regular spots, so I'm hoping someone on the forums has suggestions. I know there are lots of great toy shops online, I just haven't discovered them all on my own.

So far I've checked eBay, Amazon, BBTS, Robotkingdom, Past Generation, and Digital Toys. eBay has them for $80, and every other place I've looked is sold out.

Have you tried Fantofan? He is a pretty cool guy. He may be able to see if there are any on the shelves there in Japan anymore. I am sure it would be less than 80 if he can find one for you.

if look at e-bay, you will notice people asking ridiculous price for henkei hound.
During the release, henkei hound only worth lesser than USD$21 here in Asia.
I am not sure why Hound stock gone up so high recently....

High demand + low available supply = high price (unfortunately)

He's one of the last I need to complete my Henkei collection, and so far he's been the hardest to find.

Out of all the henkei's that I've been keeping track of and buying, Hound was definitly on the rise for quite some time actually. I was able to snag one online for $30 and that was the best I could find a few months ago. Good luck in finding one now. Not sure if it's possible to find one at a good price anymore...let me check one of my resources.

His numbers are really low. Like, there was just no restock of him.

Not sure why, but it's probably because US military vehicles aren't the bee's knees in Japan.

I appreciate the effort, in any case. I suppose I *could* just get a Universe Hound, but given that I've gotten all-Henkei thus far, and the ones on the way now are Henkei, it seems like I should stick with that layout.

Definitely hold out for Henkei Hound. He is vastly superior.

I definitely say stick with the Henkei since that's what you're aiming for in your collection but Universe Hound isn't bad at all. More than anything, Henkei Hound is for folks who want something closer to the G1 character model and toy colour scheme.

The lighter shade of green on Universe Hound makes it look more like a "toy" where the G1 toy and Henkei Hound have a darker shade of green that make it look more like a model or replica in alt mode. That's the most significant difference between the two, in my opinion.

The mold itself is a great example of simple but satisfying transformation and toy design. You could always get Universe Hound as a placeholder in your collection for the time being and hopefully acquire Henkei Hound at a decent price further down the road.

Unfortunately, it looks like it's sold out at Toy Arena.

I've purchased from them before and I've had a positive experience so far.
