It's a design flaw, I think. My Onslaught has the same problem. I suspect it's an easy fix (either shaving the tab or coating it super glue) but I never really mod my figures, even for glaring flaws.

It is an old problem with the Onslaught mould. Check this thread: They discuss the various problems and how to fix them in depth. (30 pages or so!)

My Universe Onslaught doesn't have this problem but it seems hit or miss for the figure. I hope that when I eventually get Universe Hardhead that it'll be free from this issue too. I better bookmark that TFW thread.

I remember back when the first Onslaught mold came out he had this cage/leg problem along with the short chirp siren sound also part of his electronic gimmick and I thought hasbro fix both issues and the only to find out was if the siren sound was extended, if so that you got the newest mold with the leg repair. I also have Onslaught and bought him when he first arrive, but no issues with him, except the short siren chirp! which is fine with me cause i took out his batteries.
Now with Hardhead, does he have the short siren chirp or extended sound?

I have the leg problem with my Onslaught, but I just bought Hardhead yesterday, and he's flawless.

Excellent news! Now all we need is a mod to replace the twin small cannon barrels with a large single cannon to get U Hardhead something closer to his G1 weaponry.

Both my Classics Onslaught & my Universe Hardhead have the issue. USA Edition Onslaught doesn't. I think it's random.

Wow, that's odd considering that there's a running change for the U Onslaught figures to fix this issue. One would think that the sound issue would be history for new iterations of the mold. Oh well, the sound effects aren't why I love the U Onslaught mold.

Far as I know, it's the partial. Doesn't sound fixed to me.

Er, wow, I'll have to check mine. I thought it had the long siren.

I could be wrong, it sounded cut off to me, but I'm not an expert with the sound effects. I hate them myself (minus the G1 transform sound).

I'm also not a big fan of sound effects in Transformers figures. The "transformation" sound is great but the other sound effects usually come across in a cheesy way. I'm not a fan of voice clips either. The only decent voice clip I've heard is from RotF Leader OP.

I just picked up Hardhead yesterday and i must say very nice figure, nice homeage too! Not too big on the sound effects either, but mine has the long siren sound. Also, i saw the Onslaught mold next to him and he had the short police siren which i thought this issue was fixed.
