Excelent, from what I could see from all the photos, both autobot symbols are painted, and also the 2 back lights are painted, and that's great because those 2 factory stickers for the back lights are always unsticking. The lighter blue translucent plastic is also better, so that we can see Spike or Sparkplug inside for those that have the impossible toys ones :) .

Encore 19 is already announced and it's a 3rd cassette pack, which is includes Rumble, Frenzy, Overkill and Laserbeak.

I have ordered 2 Skids at Robotkingdom. Although I have him as G1 vintage and aswell in the commemorative series line, I like to have the encore line complete. And the second one is to try and sell him in the dutch market.

Too bad they didn't repaint his eyes to blue like some of the passed reissues in the encore series.

You're right, he had blue eyes on the cartoon:

All the Autobots had blue eyes, hell even Skyfire had them and he was a Decepticon at first. The only one who didnt have blue eyes was Wreck-Gar they were red.

Slingshot doesn't have blue eyes, either. Maybe under the orange visor, though. :P

Hot Spot and Sky Lynx also don't have blue eyes (I think Steeljaw, Ramhorn and Metroplex also don't have blue eyes). And I think some more autobots also don't have blue eyes.

There are also decepticons that don't have red eyes, e.g. Thrust, Shockwave.

EDIT: Want more? :P Pipes also doesn't have blue eyes.

EDIT 2: Superion as well :) .

I always hated that assertion.

Skyfire and Starscream were friends before the war. Skyfire woke up and was slapped with a symbol and no understanding of it.

Skyfire was never actually a Decepticon in the show.

Encore Skids is looking good. :)

My one nitpick is that the front wheels are positioned quite far out(like the original) and I saw in a video review that it causes the alt mode to veer left or right when you push it. No big deal, though, as I don't plan on having races with Skids or any other of my Transformers. :)

Looks good! I had one preordered, but canceled it when I found a TRU Reissue version on BBTS for $5 cheaper. It won't be accurate without the chrome and working launchers, but at least it will go with my other reissues, most of which are from the TRU Commemorative series.

I have the TRU version, and it has all the chrome. The only difference from the vintage is that the launcher doesn't have a spring, so it doesn't actually fire the missiles.

Really? Cool, I had no idea! That makes me feel better about the purchase. Weird, I wonder why they decided not to use chrome on some of the reissues, but not others. I guess they were listening to fan opinions at that point.

Yes, and I also don't understand it... I've got many TRU reissues and some (e.g. Prowl, Smokescreen) don't have chrome while others have (e.g. Skids, Inferno), and I also don't understand why they removed the springs so that the launchers couldn't launch the missiles, yet they released the seekers spring loaded, although with oversized missiles. Go figure... :|

One factor (toy safety laws) and two solutions. I think it's all aesthetics, really. The Seekers look fine with longer missles, but do the Autobot cars?

But what does the missiles length have to do with being spring loaded or not? I thought that was to avoid them to be swallowed. If that's all due to toy safety laws, then how come the releases contradict one another? The one that bugs the most is the absence of springs on them except on the seekers. If that is a safety measure, then why do the seekers have springs? And why aren't Prowl's missiles chromed if Inferno's missiles are? I see a lot of contradiction in regarding the so called toy safety laws in these releases.

No one can truly explain why there's all these irregularities in these reissues.. but one thing's for sure, the lack of springs/chrome is one reason why the original figures are worth more than the reissues!

I think you're right about that; best I can figure is that molding new missiles for all the toys would be expensive, so Hasbro removed the springs instead. Since the missiles can't be fired (in fact, they're actually kind of a pain to remove), they're not technically "loose" and got the US Gov't stamp of approval.

The chromed/not chromed is probably just Hasbro's random-ass attempt at cost-cutting.
