renaming molds for a classics display

I know a lot of you use molds from the armada trilogy to fill out your classics display (energon downshift as wheeljack etc etc)

I do the same but there are two molds I want to integrate but cannot think of who they would represent from the G1 universe.

I want to display Cybertron Crumplezone and Dark Crumplezone with my classics display, any ideas of who I can rename them as?

I often search the micromaster database for this, I renamed cybertron jetfire (since there already is a perfect classics jetfire) "sunrunner" from a military based 4 pack.

any thoughts are appreciated

It's the head that prompts this suggestion but Crumplezone could be the G1 version of Animated Bulkhead. And Ransack GTS could be Animated Prowl.

Energon Divebomb as Banzai-tron.

Crumplezone could work as Bulkhead from Animated. I picked up the new Hardhead for just that purpose (I'm using HotShot for his little buddy.) As for Dark Crumplezone, I got nothing. Maybe Lugnut if you want to stretch the concept.

How about Cybertronian mode Backstreet for Dark Crumplezone.

Backstreet is a good idea, fits in nicely with the scout to ultra theme the classics seem to have (powerglide etc)

I was hoping they could both be renamed as cons, there must be an obscure duo from G1
(not Runabout and Runamuck, I have them covered)

You asked for G1 homage so why are people suggesting Animated Bulkhead?

Crumplezone's futuristic car mode and green colour scheme kind of suggest Springer. I can't think of anything else.

Out of curiosity, who do you have representing these two? I've been trying to find a good match.

Cause Bulkhead is awesome. And the size aspect and that toothy lower jaw.

Plus you already have several official options for Springer. The Botcon one doesn't even suck! Why make such a huge leap to a character that's doubly covered?

I know he doesn't have a monster form but D.Crumplezone seeing he's a bit of a brute and in dark colors could work for Blot.

Actually, I have frenzyrumble doing a custom job on a pair of crossover venoms, will post the results when I get them.

sorry, I know that probably isnt the helpful choice you were looking for.

I will probably just sell off normal crumplezone and keep d.crumplezone for the display. Just leave him named crumplezone.

If you're talking about this: http://www.cliffbee.com/reviews/images/ ... ringer.gif then I think my suggestion is better! Springer didn't have a tank mode. I don't know what else SB has in his collection so I was just thinking of what CZ reminds me of. My first thought was Rhinox but his q was about G1. So that's why I made that leap!

I know he asked G1 but Crumplezone's head just reminds me of Bulkhead, one of several Animated characters I'd love to see retro-fitted into G1.

Why Divebomb as Banzai-tron? (I apologise for the long winded explanation)

Divebomb's robot head closely resembles Banzai-tron's.

They both have similar body types like the torso and from the knee spikes down.

They're both portrayed as martial artists.

Plus personally, I prefer the Divebomb mold over the Dreadwing mold.

I also like to make up fact files for TF's I have for which there's little or no fiction. I also work to incorporate most into G1/2 Marvel comics continuity. The Cybertronian colonies really allow for up and coming factions like the Mini-cons and Maximals.

I saw Divebomb as Banzai-tron almost instantly. Now we have seen several TF's share names in G1 and G2 such as Lightspeed, Sky High and Tracer. So what's another Divebomb? (with no offence intended to Swoop fans)

I think Banzai-tron is one of the worst TF names ever. So working with Divebomb, I thought what if he'd originally been called Divebomb.

Shortly after he arrived on Earth, he fought with Jazz who beat him one on one and mockingly calling him Banzai-tron and the name stuck, Decepticons being the cruel slaggers they are.

This would then lead to a vendetta between them with Banzai-tron wanting to beat Jazz and reclaim, in his eyes, his lost honour.

Just an idea.

Plus Divebomb is closer in size to my G1 Jazz than Dreadwing.

I've proposed this repaint idea for years and gotten a few other fans to agree with me that the colours scheme would fit. Plus Banzi-tron gets those Energon blades.

On topic:

How about Cybertron Clocker as G2 comics Hot Rod? I bought a custom of him in Hot Rod colours and it really works. The head, the sleek design, the exhaust pipes. Even the gun reminds me of Firebolt and the other Targetmaster weapons.

What about Crumplezone as one of the G2 Stormtroopers?
