WOW, I'm liking this. I never had the original, so I'm thinking this would be a great alternative.

I'm really digging on that tank mode(I don't care if it's supposed to be a car, it's a friggin' tank to me.) The sword setup is very nice as well, here's hoping for a crapload of armorments. I think i'd like to paint one up in Octane's colors, that would look pretty sweet.

Looks great, now all I have to worry about is how much this will cost.

I'm not going to pass this one up. I'm hoping they do another release of the CJ upgrade kit.....I'm gonna beg them. This looks like it's going to be a 2010 revival in 2010. We got the Rodimus Upgrade, Defender(Sprin...), and City Commander (Ult.. M.g.s) so I hope the next Universe line coincides with this.

thanks for homo'n up the thread with that kim possible pic Blurrz! (just kidding bro, you know I kid cuz I love)

I honestly won't be able to sleep tonight now, it's that badass.

I have to correct the story just a *tincy bit. It's well over 40% done as that same illustration board was used back in may at TFCon (and lovingly photographed by MKall and I)

Now I'm going bat **** crazy wanting to see the bot mode!

Whoa, actual proto pics? No freakin' way! Awesome. This thing will be preordered IMMEDIATELY.

Car mode's a little odd, but I'm loving the helicopter mode. Hopefully this costs less than City Commander, but even if it does, I don't want to miss out.

Hoh! Awesome sauce :)

I'm particularly stoked as I don't have a Springer in my collection.

I wonder what the scale will be? Probably a bit complex for Deluxe, so Voyager? Bigger? I guess smaller than Protector and City Commander would be ideal, but in the end it doesn't really matter because it looks excellent anyway.

YAY!

That looks good

With all the money I'm saving by not buying the ROTF line I shouldn't have any problem getting this guy

Here's the results of not having to design around toy safety laws... 100% awesome!

Awesome, I don't even care about price.

It's funny; Although they haven't made a stand alone toy yet, I kind of consider FanProject the measure against MMC's Knight Morpher and Impossible's Arcee.

Very cool design. I especially like the ground alt mode. If only Hasbro/TT did a proper Springer. As cool as Defender looks, I'm curious about the quality of construction of the finished product. From FP's past efforts, we know they do quality work for accessory sets but a full fledged figure?

How much will this cost if the Aerial Team Appendage kit is $45 and the City Commander is $90? Will FP go over the $100 mark and possibly draw even more attention from Hasbro who has said the $100+ full figure area of 3rd party products is definitely on their list of concerns? I think this'll be an interesting project to keep an eye on.

Unless Hasbro owns a pattern on a toy that transforms between humanoid form, tank (sort of), and chopper, they probably has no case as long as there are no Transformers symbols on the this toy.
