What color is a best fit for him. A white? Or a light grey?

It's really a matter of personal preference. Which one looks more "Starscreamy" to you? Check out the two different Starscreams Hasbro put out in the Classics/Universe 2.0 line in the
galleries.

Me? It would actually depend on the red you're using. The darker the red, the darker the white/gray.

Well I am making a G1 starscream from the movie (first one). I am thinking white because he is suppose to be red white and blue for the most part. I think grey would look more realistic. If I was to go grey, what do you guys think? Light grey or darker grey. Goal is to make him G1 colored but movie realistic. Thanks in advance.

They did one exactly like you want for a Target exclusive from the first movie. It uses the head that they used for Thundercracker and the RotF Skywarp. There's a gallery of it here. It's really sweet. If you want a more gray version they made a silvery one called Deep Space Starscream in place of a Premium version. Both are going for between $20 and $30 on eBay.

Hope that helps!

When I repainted my Classics Starscream I decided light grey with white wing stripes was the best. The USA rerelease has him white with silver stripes but I think light grey is more realistic.

Both helpful posts. Thank you. I have 2 things to address though.

1. I do not like the target Starscream version. In a few days I will show some progress on what I have done that makes the Target one look rather cheap. I was going to get it until I figured I could do better. I redid the face smoothed out the unneeded lines and have added some great detail. In no way am I saying you are wrong for liking the Target version, it is just not for me.

2. He looks more realistic in grey like a real jet. The original would have been white like the Navy jets. Red white and blue. So I am stuck between G1 accurate or accurate in todays timeline. I think white may just be better like the navy show jets, but I would have to weather it and that would be inaccurate because all the red/white/blue navy jets are always super clean.

So with those things said, do you fellows have anything more to add? I am trying to make it something that everyone would enjoy. I have been working on it over 3 weeks now. I am still trying to redesign his arms in some way.If I can't I will be making the finger things have joints.

Don't try and please everyone - it can't be done!

How about going with a darker grey like this and adding the G1 colour stripes? The splash of colour won't look out of place - if you look at pics of Blackbirds they often have red details.

Thanks for the input. I'm not trying to please everyone, just trying to get good feedback for making it look close to the G1 yet making it still look newish. For some reason toying with colors of an F-22 on Gimp, just seems to be white or a light light grey. The blue clashes to much with the grey. I just wish Bay would of stuck with G1 stuff closer...would of made it look so much better. I mean what would he do if they added the other seeker jets? Hopefully Leader class Starscream comes out, because I will be buying about 4 at the start and making all the seekers I can :D
