Finally got MP-03, and my opinion

I was afraid to get him based on the QC horror tales. Well, I got lucky and bought it secondhand, only $70, in very good condition. The "fragility" is not an issue, unless you don't have thumbs or are super heavy handed, there should be no problem. I have a few yamato macross 1/60 pieces, and Starscreams durability is nowhere as fragile as those. I'm glad that I decided for myself. I have all pieces, fingers, and no stress marks or weak points. The only problem I have is the unpainted doctor and the lack of the cape/crown. I'm debating on whether to paint Archeville or not.

I agree and know what you mean.

Those complaining about "fragility" with these have never been dumb enough to pay $200 for a yamato valkerie and have it break by looking at it. yamato is overpriced and overrated.

the original Bandai 1/55 VF-1S with FAST packs is an ancient design, but built like a tank, and much, much more satisfying to transform.

Bandai, Soul of Chogin and Takara make good figures...everyones else...blah.

But yeah, MP SS is pretty sweet. The new colors are growing on me, but he should have been 1/1 scale with MP Megatron, MP Prime instead 2/3 scale. Kind of cruel to the SS fans if you ask me.

It's been awhile since I've watched G1, but hasn't Starscream always been a little shorter in robot mode?

But yeah, he's definitely an awesome figure, and I don't think fragility is a problem either. Looks great, I don't mind the the colors at all, it sort of makes him look like his Energon incarnation, or a darker Starscream. He's probably my favorite Masterpiece (and Starscream). Prime's great, and Megatron's really impressive, but Starscream is the coolest.

Yes, SS should come up to Megs shoulder.

Again what he said, Damn!!!! your on a roll...

I also think SS should have been a tad larger, not the same height as Megatron/Prime,, but almost and if tyhe nay sayers say packaging would have been an issue, uhhh hello.....robot mode!!

lol. Thats a tough one really, since in G1, he is not nearly the same height. SS is definately smaller than they are. Would MP 3 have benefitted from being another inch or 2 taller, sure.

However, this height works for me as I have him on the same shelf as BT Swindle, Shockwave, Deadend and Dragstrip. So they are all in relatively the right proportions. And yes, I call them by their correct names. ;-)

paint the good doctor! I did and he turned out awesome and I have no regrets.

I'd like the cape/crown but his shoulders have some square peg holes that are slightly hinged... I think that would be where shoulder pads might attach.

here's how I did archeville.

I never owned him, but his colour scheme is more reminiscent of thundercracker than screamer

hHis height is right.
His colour isnt.

The few problems I have with the design would idsapear if they'd just give him the right colours.

Still sexy as hell. lol

I think that it's a fanboy (or fangirl!) right to complain about a figure.

Personally I'm very pleased with MP Screamer. I always wished for an accurate F-15 that transforms. Scarscream's colours don't bother either me - in fact I prefer them to the light grey. The height issue is fine - Screamer is taller than his Binaltech counterparts and the stand always helps make Screamer stand above the others.

I have to admit though, that my favourite seeker has always been Skywarp so I'm eager to get that bad boy - roll on the Autumn!

Same here. The grey is very cool and realistic. However, this is why I am torn. I want a G1 accurate SS and was going to send mine to ages3andup for the repaint. However, this grey has really grown on me. What to do

Why not see if you can pick up a loose MP-03 on Ebay? Then you keep your original boxed one and have a fan repaint too?

Unfortunately I havent seen one go for under $90 with shipping, for which price I can just order a new one. :(

If I saw one for like 60, I totally would.

Starscream looks fantastic. The only thing I can think of to complain about his his reliance on that stand but then it does add to the display quality of the figure so not really a complaint.

If they do produce a cartoon colours version then this one can be Thundercracker ( assuming they dont produce an official one ).
