Completing the Alternator Collection

I have every Alternator except for Ricochet, Rollbar, Nemisis Prime, Camshaft, Ravage & Rumble (last three not out in my area yet) Does anyone think I should bother with Rollbar & Ricochet? I'm not sure and could use some opinions. And don't suggest Nemisis Prime because I can't afford the secondary market prices for him anyways. :P

Get them now while they are cheap. I have all of them except Swerve, but that is my fault for not getting him when I could. If you have not seen Camshaft, Rumble nor Ravage in your area yet, your not gonna, so get them while you can.

Well sh1t, that sucks. Assuming your right then that means I am stuck to the secondary market for Camshaft, Rumble and Ravage. At least I can get Ricochet & Swindle on sale right now for $15 each at my local Fred Meyers.

If you really need em, I'll sell you Ravage and Rumble for $25 a piece + shipping.

I actually do appreciate the offer Counterpuch but with having twin sons and my wife's ongoing health problems I have to be as economical as possible with my TF purchases. My Alternator collection will just have to be representative of what gets released in my neck of the woods.

Stupid retail store distribution! :-x

I haven't seen Camshaft since December when he appeared briefly at one of my local Meijers. The local TRU's are still clogged with Rollbar's, Ricochet's, and a couple of Sunstreakers and Meisters so none have stocked Ravage or Rumble yet.

the only one I am mising right now is that **** camshaft, because I have never seen him in philly at all. Ravage and Rumble have never shown up here either from what I have seen, but I was hooked up by a fellow board member.

as what is left on your shelves around you. I say get what you don't have. People may complain about repaints or what have you, but trust me EVERY alternator goes up in value once it is out of common circulation. so even if you don't want it now, you eventually will if you want to complete your collection.

SO GET IT(THEM) NOW

*to add a note I am also missing alt. rodimus as well. **** hasbro and their **** exclusives

You know for a long time I boasted the most complete retail shelf collection possible. But some of the repaints and store exclusives really killed that. Last i looked I could still get Rollbar at Fry's electronics. And I just can't bring myself to shop at Wal-mart. But Camshaft never made an appearance around me.

And of Course Nem. Prime being a online exclusive completely killed my completionist ability. Since I wasn't going to spend that kind of money on that figure at that time. Still I like having a nearly complete collection. Just 4 more for retail completion.

Try hasbrotoyshop.com they still have most of the alternators available.

Yeah, I was looking at Rollbar & Ricochet again at Fred Meyers and even the Rollbar on the shelf didn't look like good QC in it's package. The hood was not snapped down all the way. The first Rollbar I originally tried to get a long time ago had that same problem and I couldn't close the hood. After my experience with those two and the horrible QC on them I'm rather timid I guess about getting them again.

I'm just not sure what to do.

Rollbar is what stopped me from getting all the Alts. I like Hound. Swindle is okay too. I really didn't need another Jeep model, and the character was meaningless to me.

Ricochet is okay if you touch up his nose with gold paint.

I wish they would have stuck to producing big name characters. I gave up trying to get all of them when they started doing little known characters (with the exception of Decepticharge - he is cool looking, and I refer to him as Dragstrip anyway).

And no TRUs will stock Ravage or Rumble. They are WalMart exclusives.

Honestly, I have them all and:

All the ones you have mentioned have been banished from my shelves.

The autobots, as they are meaningless to me. Rumble and Ravage are cool, BUT, they do not fit in with the scale of my MP/BT collections. Ravage works, kinda OK if keopt near MP Megs, but Rumble is too big.

Well, as I am confident that there will be a MP Soundwave soon enough with MP tapes in the right scale, I banisherd them to storage bns as well.

One exception is Nemesis Prime. I do not like Alt Prime as Prime, and Prime has been banished. However, check the Trailbreaker conversion from Nem Prime as shown on Reprolables. I am absolutely going to do it. Wicked nice looking.

Camshaft, Rollbar, Prime, Riccochet, and Battle Ravage are imo, pointless to buy. Ravage and Rumble are dependent on an MP relese. Nemesis is a must for a Trailbreaker conversion.

Sorry, I meant to say Wal-Marts. TRU hasn't carried Alternators in about two years.

My local wal-mart only just stocked Ravage and Rumble as of last week. So the hope is still out there for those of you with Shelfwarmers.

Personally, I recommend picking up at least one of each figure. As I've said before, this is a series struggling to keep its head above water. We should encourage sales as much as possible to keep the series alive if we hope to get new molds later on. Rollbar may be a lazy repaint but there are options thanks to Reprolabels, and the mold does offer itself to kitbashing.

And honestly, anyone who spent way too much on the Nemesis Prime repaint or the Botcon seeker set really shouldn't complain about repaints at all. I'd much rather have a repaint at retail than as an overpriced "exclusive".

I've only recently discovered Alternators and gotten back into the transformer scene. Like a month and half ago recently. One Ravage showed up at my Wal Mart about a week ago and I picked it up. I have no idea how it got there but I snatched it up quick. Any way, never say never. I'm glad it showed up.

As far as Ricochet it was the last one I bought as there were a ton at Wal Mart but I figured I'd get it now before they started pulling the old stock off the selves for the new movie toys. I wasn't interested in the character or the car used but after buying him and transforming him I fell in love. It's a hell of a toy, don't miss out on it. And check every store in your area that sells toys.

I should probably get back to completeing my Alt collection.

I still need:

Blue Tracks
Skids
Mirage
Sideswipe
Meister

I think that's it now...

Mind you, it'll be a while before I'll have enough moolah to buy any. I'm still holding out to buy the UM and SW two-pack.

Damn my lack of moolah :P

Damn the world for being run on it!

I went back to Fred Meyers to possibly pick up Rollbar & Ricochet and I discovered an end cap display of the movie deluxes (except for Wreckage) and those barrel roll blasters. The movie toys beat out my picking up the Alts. I got Bumblebee, Brawl & Barricade. I'll just put the Alts on the Father's day wish list.
