The newest creation from the minds of a third party company happens to be an add-on for a Generation One Relic. CrazyDevy has created the CDMW-01 head, made for Generation One Devastator. It`s casted in Polyvac virgin ABS, has switch-activated LED eyes, and a balljointed neck. CrazyDevy merges G1-likeness and modern toy technology into this head. Check it out below.

Just gonna say, CrazyDevy has some pretty big balls to make an add-on for a figure that goes for $700 on the market. I don't own Devastator, but I know there's alot of collector's who are going to be reluctant to put some sort of third party head on a vintage figure like that. Or is this some sort of blessing from yet another third party mastermind? Discuss....

Well this new head will make Devastator look more sinister. It looks to docile with the original head. I would buy this if it's not too expensive.

MISB of course. $700 probably isn't exact, but just wanted to throw a number out there..

edit-nevermind... $700 isn't even close, haha, probably like $300-400

Yeah, I'm sure it was more like $100-125 loose when I picked him up.

I'm somewhat interested, mainly because of the added articulation. Would like to see a few more pics though. Particularly of the head when the eyes aren't lit up.

I don't really see much point in a super articulated neck on a G1 brick...

He's not that brick like. Sure his legs and head are static, but he has articulation at the shoulders, elbows and wrists. Not bad for G1.

I am just a sucker for cartoon accurate and articulated designs. That is why I have MP Prime, Megatron, Grimlock and Starscream. Also Henkei Seekerjets are great. For instance the new headmold on G1 Bumblebee. That is way more realistic than the genuine one. If tommorow somebody else come's out with an improved Jazz, for example if he would have blue eyes/shades/visor and perhaps with speakers coming out his hips and maby also a detachable hook with a rope coming out of his hand and articulated just like the MP line, man that would be so awesome and cool. He wouldn't like to own him then?

So yeah, I am sure gonna get that new head mold of Devastator. I already have custom heads for Ironhide and Ratchet as well. And I don't have complaints over them either. Beats 10-0 out of those stickerfaces on the driverseat anytime :APPLAUSE:

My G1 Devy is missing the yellow gun that attaches to his head anyway, so I'm all over this. Well played!

Now someone just needs to come up with a replacement for the hip connector so Devs can have some articulated leg action....

Well, if Devastator is seeing an Encore release, this is probably a smart move, especially at this price. However, I'd still think there's more demand for pieces like this for the Energon combiner version.

For me, I'd just like to find the time to tear my folk's home apart and find all of the bits of my G1 version that I'm missing.

I would like to see more info, honestly. Web page is very empty.

Information I want to know is simple: will the side gun plug into the side of his head? And will the head fold down like the G1 version for "battle mode" vehicle mode?

As far as that comment about "there's alot of collector's who are going to be reluctant to put some sort of third party head on a vintage figure like that" to clarify, Devy's head is a removable piece in G1, so putting a different removable head on the merge form isn't exactly taking away any value.

Besides, Devastator is not "that" expensive of a combiner. You can almost always find parts for him in junk lots on ebay. And if you don't at "least" own one of the $5 KO sets... I mean, come on...

It's just nice to see a 3rd party add-on that isn't like $49.99 for a pack of plastic guns or something. Hope to see more reasonably priced things like this for stuff I actually have.

I really like the concept but I’m not sure if I should get it. It is priced well so that’s a big plus!

Meh...don't really see the point. I've got two sets (one complete, one without the combiner parts) and I'm good with that.

I just ordered at CrazyDevy and received an email saying that the CMDW-02 is coming out as well and would be a new designed devastator hip connector, so that he will have movable thighs and can pose different poses flexibly.

So now he won't be as brickish anymore

Everytime I get within 2 inches of my original G1 Devastator, he falls apart. Especially, that damn Bonecrusher arm. I think the new head looks nice, but why try to improve a figure that is vintage 1980's ??? That is the charm of owning G1 figures.

Not bad.

I'll wait till I see the hip connector to decide.

With $9 shipping it's a toss up.
