Don't forget M.A.S.K..
And with the A-Team movie coming out next year, we will be seeing those too.
It's funny, now it's my sons who want all this stuff, and in 20 years they will be talking about they're childhood toy memories.
The circle of life.

I think someone forgot to take his Ritalin.

Battle Beasts were awesome. I still have mine. I wish they would re-release them or make new versions with more articulation or something.

I would absolutely love to see what toy makers could do with the Sectaurs line. You know, those 7 inch insectoid figures that rode those hairy hand puppet-style monster insects? That was a series that should have expanded except for the fact that some damn kid pulled off one of the wings and choked himself to death with it. So long Sectaurs. ( Incidentally, Peter Cullen did the voice of Mantor in the short lived Sectaurs mini-series! )
I remember the attention to detail, from the iridescent plastic used for the wings to the interesting metallic paint jobs to the ton of accessories that the figures came with.
And the Hive fortress playset was positively HUGE. The Marvel comic wasn't half bad either, though the show kinda sucked. Ruby Spears had nothing over Sunbow.

Yeah, it's Season 1 Volume 1, which has (I think) 32 of the 65 episodes. I haven't heard anything at all about future releases...which concerns me. But on the bright side, it's $10 cheaper than Best Buy.
They also have all four of the Thundercats season sets. At $20 each, they are a steal compared to what Best Buy was charging a few years back. Did they ever fix the apparent audio problems on these? Oh, well...I got them anyway.

yeah is amazing, but even do you think that now the companies know that the generation from the 80's is integrating to the workfield and now the're producing expensier items? is all about nostalgy, for me i hope to they realise new series from:
1 tundercats
2 silverhawks
3 dino riders
now i can get reissues from almost all toys even whit their old style packages like:
MOTU
TRANSFORMERS ENCORE
STAR WARS
GI JOE
personaly i love those kind of figures one a complete reissue from the original toy and other a moder version whit the last technology aviable but in the style of the first edition like MOTU CLASSICS or the trasnformers masterpieces (even that they doesn't have the same package style)

This thread is getting fun.
Does anyone remember action figures from the same era that were like big chunky guys in brightly colored "space marine" armor, but the gimmick was that you could take them apart and put their limbs and torsos and heads back together in any configuration you wanted? You could simply swap their limbs, or turn them into four-legged two-headed abominations, or whatever you wanted. I'm pretty sure they weren't Centurions, although the Centurions remind me of them.
And damn you guys for reminding me about Sectaurs. Now I remember how much I loved the couple figures that I had, and I'm probably going to end up having to track them down and buy them somewhere.

Are you thinking of the bad guys from Centurions? IIRC they came apart and you could mix and match.
See how they kind of split in half:

No, that's not them. These guys had chunkier limbs, and you could literally attach any limb to any socket, so you could have a head sticking out of each shoulder instead of arms, and a leg sticking out of the neck, arms where the legs should be, whatever. But they WERE brightly colored like the Centurions. I think the two I had were yellow and green, or yellow and orange, or something like that.

The 80's really were the golden era of toys.
Kids today just don't know what they missed.
All the toys today are either from the latest and lamest rendition of a TV/movie series from the 80's or some wrestling garbage.
Otherwise, they're glued to a computer screen or busy raking the leaves in my yard (yes, they get a small wage and a glass of lemonade at the end of the day).

Wasn't there a MOTU figure like that? Modulak or something like that? These kinds of things always bug me until the right thing is found!

Similar idea, but these guys looked totally different. They were more chunky and armored looking, and I think they had human heads. I don't think they were based on any cartoon. I'll have to keep scouring the internet. Someone somewhere must have a picture of them.

yeah personally I’ve found more quality in the toys from the 80's is an example the quality from the g1 transformers, now masterpiece takes again that concept of high quality, in my child days the optimus prime g1 was a very expensive toy and when you see that box, and the metal parts well for those days it was the edge of the quality and technology in action figures.
Well maybe in 20 years we are going to see ben 10 forums but the toys don’t have the same quality, even i don't see so entusiastic children now as we were.
do you remember those figures from knights whit holograms in the chest.

I liked this show that was on back in the early 90's. I think it was called Exosquad. It involved two factions. Humans against I believe superior human engineered race with blue skin. I still have two of the toys. they were small people that would go inside of the battle suits. I thought they were pretty cool.

Oh I also loved the Inhumanoids and Robotix. All part of a Sunday morning hour that included Big Foot and the Muscle machines, and Jem. I think the Visionaries might have been part of that too.

For me, it was all about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Ghostbusters toys (aside from my TFs, of course). As a kid I figured "Hey, they're all in New York, Crossover time!" Had the Turtle Blimp stationed on top of the Ghostbusters Firehouse... crazy times.
Had a few Visionaries, some Army Ants, more Masters of the Universe figures that you could shake a really big stick at, and a whole mess of Captain Power stuff... those were the days...
I miss some of that stuff...

Exosquad was AWESOME!
I have three shelves dedicated to that line in my toy room where my human and Neo sapien E-Frames dwell in peace and brotherhood.
The toys were top notch and the animated show was years ahead of its time. Unfortunately, in an act of Mattel-like stupidity, Playmates tried to mish-mash the line together with the Robotech franchise, thus condemning the Exosquad line to an early, agonizing death. Don't get me wrong, I like Robotech, I just don't like it mixed with my Exosquad.
