Maybe the fiscal year starts at a different time. I would imagine so.

Don't worry - he won't land in MN. Starscream and the last two alternators never seemed to....

I kind of figured as much. Thanks for taking my hopes and dreams away, IP.

Went ahead and bought an unopened Takara on ebay. I was wanting to go that route, and when I saw what people want for shipping on the Wal Mart exclusive version (which I will not likely find in Rochester MN) the one I bought turned out to be cheaper. And I actually like the Takara colors a bit more as well as the packaging. The MP packaging for these WM exclusives honestly blows.

It took me two Walmarts, but I found one for myself (and one on the shelf). Winnipeg, MB, Canada. I tried to add a sighting, but the only stores I can choose from in Canada are Zellers, ToysRus, and Sears... not Walmart?

Overall, I'm impressed, and I love the display stand. This is my second MP figure (the first was the 20th Anniversay release of MP Optimus) and I'm very glad that he can hold the Megatron Pistol, since Prime has enough to keep his hands full with. However, I was disappointed that the Hasbro version of the figure has the exact same facial expressions as Starscream, rather than the Takara Skywarp face sculpts... but ah well... that sneer looks good on him anyway!

Got 2 this morning.

Found someone actually helpful and useful at the Wally World this morning.

They have 25 left, might have to ask, because mine came in an unopened box off the truck directly.

WolfDawg wrote:You're getting an MP figure for an 8 Year old? I'm sorry, but that doesn't make much sense. I teach 3rd grade and I wouldn't trust any of those kids with one of my Movie toys let alone the brittle as hell MP Seeker mold. Hell, I bet there are a ton of adults who would snap off a wing within the first 5 minutes.

it all depends on the child hes actually transformed most of my collection over the last 2 years including my mp's with the exception of megs for obvious reasons to anyone who owns him. he takes his time with them, follows the directions and keeps them in excellent condition. hes got about twenty all together. mainly classics 2.0, binaltech, and some leaders and not ONE has been broken or scratched i'd post pics but my sisterwont let me. as far as getting it for him i already saw him get his heart broken when some scumbag walked out of the only walmart near him with 5 mp starscreams and its not gonna happen this year. lets remember ladies and gents its the holidays so dont be so damn selfish no one needs four or five of a hard to find figure.the last part was not directed at you my wolfdawg but more out of frustration with scalpers.

Bow down to your master......

Image

(the scout trooper is my avatar/callsign on a SW site)

Technical difficulties with this photo -had to use Starscream's clear display bracket, b/c the one from the box was bad --the hole is not big enough for the peg on Warp. Should I call/email Hasbro customer service or walmart's? I don't want to box it all back up, just for an exchange for a better bracket. Anyone else have this problem? In jet mode the piece holds Warp just fine, oddly enough.

I found Skywarp finally also. I'm guessing that he was really mass released at WalMart yesterday.

twisting wouldn't even help -- really think the hole is too small for the peg. Either need to make his peg smaller or make the hole bigger. Have to perform an operation -lol. Customizers --help!!!!

Widen the hole, don't shave down the peg.

The hole is surrounded by black plastic and less visible considering it's on the back side of the figure.

The shrunken peg will be quite visible, and if you shave off too much, you'll never get him to stay on the display stand, at least not with any stability.

Use a screwdriver that's one size too big for the hole, and turn it as you push deeper. It'll carve out enough of the plastic to make the fit just right.

Do not force it onto the peg. You snap it off and ruin the dis play stand.

Ok. Thx. I don't have a wide array of screwdrivers, but this seems like the best solution/advice. Anyone else having bracket problems??

Mine seems a big snug, but it does fit in okay. Granted, I don't have an MP Starscream to compare it to, so I'm not sure if it's more difficult than it should be. However, given that it doesn't require too much effort (and once in, it will most likely stay that way for long periods) I'm happy with it as is.

just take a pair of scissors and lightly twist one blade in the hole...

if i can't find a good screwdriver, then i'll find a small scissor & do that. Thanks. I'd hate to take warp back to the store just for a new stand --might not even help in the long run -lol

Got mine. He was out of the box in 30 seconds. First experience with the mold, since I missed out on Starscream (something that ebay will help me rectify down the road) and like Prime before him, I was scared to transform him. New figure, tight joints, crap instructions, the masterpiece figures always make me nervous the first transformation through. But damn, f-15 mode looks sweet. And seriously, whats better than that new toy smell when you first open the box? A few things but not many.

Glad you're all enjoying your Skywarps too. :)

Something I didn't notice at first on mine (and sorry if this ruins him for you...don't read further if you don't want to know XD)......

....he seems to have factory damage of some sort on the left side of his head, as if a thin layer of plastic was shaved off. It's not too major, but still bugs me. Anyone else encounter this?

Just got mine today. Ran to Wally when the rest of y'all did, forgetting that Long Island SUCKS and it takes everything a while to trickle down to the sump field that is...here.

Oh he's so *pretty*! And you're right: serious new toy smell. (SNORFLE!)

I don't see anything like the head damage you've described, kirbenvost--a picture maybe?

And y'all are right--he is HARD to fit on his display peg. I had to ram that peg into that hole with extreme prejudice. But it does fit. It's just...tight. Wait, I keep writing more in hopes it'll sound less pervy and weird and I am failing.... :(

HK, Yeah, he does look a bit too much like Screamer, but...rowr anyway.

leave it to HK to molest Skywarp

I'm gonna have to exchange mine. I tried widening the hole on the bracket with a screwdriver (gored it some) and still had problems putting the bracket on the peg. No more games with modifications. I'm reluctant to take it back to the same wally, fearing I'll get another from the same batch with the exact same problem. I did rebox him nicely though. What a pain in the arse!!! For $60 & this being my grail of the year - this really pisses me off.
