I was a bit disappointed with it, myself. I heard about how great the Breakaway mold was and was totally stoked when I heard about the Thrust repaint as I didn't care for B's paint job. Didn't think it lived up to the hype when I got it, though...

I got mine after seeing him in Target. Target and Wal Mart have been the only places I saw him in Rochester, MN. Our TRU has been pretty limited in RoTF figures. It is like that here at least.

I live in Canada so there are no Targets, but he has been showing up at Walmart for awhile though. Walmart is just way further from where I live and a bit inconvenience to get to.

I'm a fan of RotF Thrust too. :)

I really like the Breakaway mold. I think that the kibble in alt mode is one of the better examples of jet kibble. Sure, you can still make out the robot parts but it's positioned in a more compact and neat configuration than a lot of jet alt modes. The alt mode itself is a cool looking jet and the G1 Thrust colour scheme is sharp.

The transformation is fun for me. It's not difficult or complex so I think most people won't have trouble with it. At the same time, it has enough involvement in the process so that it can be a satisfying transformation.

The range of articulation is good overall. The best parts are the legs where the joints are fairly stiff and the knee joints tightness can be easily adjusted by tightening/loosening the screw located in the hinge joint. The feet are great for stability. Fairly large and flat. The ankle joints allow great sideways movement, which enables some very nice variety in leg posing. It really makes for some great poses for this figure.

The waist has rotational movement, which unfortunately, is negated when you secure the tail section to the back.

The main detracting detail of the figure is the way the head is recessed fairly deeply in the cockpit. This makes viewing it awkward and restricts articulation of the head.

I've read of mods that require removal of material of the cockpit to fix this issue...I've also read of mods that involve simply removing the two screws in the cockpit structure, opening the cockpit, and then simply reposition the head so that its chin isn't stuck beneath the lip/control panel of the front section of the cockpit. Once the chin is freed and you move the chin above the lip/control panel, you re-assemble the cockpit. You'll see the head is more visible like in these two photos I just took:

I think the result is great, especially when you consider 1it's a really simple mod that requires no damage to the figure. You can now also turn the head for posing.

Here's a photo of the alt mode where I put in some panel lining. It really brings out the details.

Unfortunately, the flash obscures the details on the left side but the central and right side panel lining can be seen.

Overall, I think it's a great Deluxe figure of an original design from the movie line. I definitely think its less than sleek and sexy bot mode is what takes it down a notch in some people's opinion. I like unconventional designs, though, and the difference between the sleek jet alt mode and the more hulking bot mode makes an interesting contrast for me.

Just fixed it so that the head is more visible thanks for the tip!

Well, I finally found a Thrust for myself, and did the mod. It's slightly better after, but not by much. He's a pretty cool deluxe, but definitely flawed. They could have designed the head area a lot better. I kind of don't like how the jet nose sticks straight out of his chest either, it would look better if it folded down, IMO. He also kind of looks like a robot wearing a plane for a backpack in robot mode due to the kibble placement.

The paint job is great though, I just wish they'd painted the eyes. Articulation is pretty good, but I wonder why they made his waist swivel when it's rendered completely useless by the transformation. Really like the integrated weapon, I'm glad they didn't try to make it a launcher like Cybertron Thundercracker. And Thrust's jet mode is simply awesome, despite the slight kibbly-ness. I really like the way the front landing gear for some reason.
