I'm unimpressed, Sure the figure looks kinda imposing, the lights are cool, and the vehicle mode doesn't look too broken up by the many panels that make it up... but the motorized functions and the annoying audio (even though I like "Whip it") are something I'd have left out... I don't know if it was mistransformed or not in those videos, but the robot mode just looked... a little lacking to me... Overall I don't think "Ultimate" is quite the term for it...

Gonna have to agree. If they ditched all the stupid gizomos, and brought down the price to, say $50-$60 US, then we would be in business. On closer inspection, the detailing is not there for a figure and car of this scale.

However, the transformation does look complex and satisfying with many pieces locking and clicking into place.

I will get this, only if it is $60 or less...NOT 90.

I could get a MP for that money.

Third Post!!

After review of the video, it looks complex but falls short, its detailed but not enough for the size it is, and the proportions are off, and the arms having to hang back on a string kinda seems really cheap, they could have engineered it a better way then that.. the chest should have an Automorph feature that pops his head out of the engine hood section, and the back comes down and the grill splits apart and you snap it into place on the torso, so his chest looks like it does in th movie, so he looks like he does in the movie... Who the heck engineered this guy?? 1st Graders?? Not only that his hand should be there and the gun attach with some sort of magnet mechanism that gives the light on the gun power when combined with the hand, that way you don't have a one arm Bumblebee "all" the time..

I took this from an earlier Post:

Ultimate bumblebee looks like Ultimate Crap!!! I here is a comparison image:
Image

On the left you see the way the car grill is supposed to seperate and become more of the chest versus just a huge slab of the car front folded down as the chest.. and not to mention the stumpy gun arm, which is way to short and looks like he had his hand shot off and is awaiting it to return like Mazinger!!

The chest is way too Bulky, the arms are ok, but I dislike the gun arm because its too short and not longer then the other arm by a 1/3 of an inch..Instead its shorter then the other arm by 1/3 of an inch.. i think..

The other thing I noticed was the legs look similar to bot mode, Nice feet, good thigh area with the car kibble matching somewhat, and from the review pics ...sport articulation, but they are way to bulky, from the side view you can see it..

Image

Come on, its 2007!!! they should be able to do better then this!!! if you stretched out Bumblebees legs, then this design would be thinner, and look a little closer to the movie bots legs..

The helmet and face... this is where I have constantly voiced my disdain over the fact that they are selling an Ultimate Bublebee with no face sheild option included.. what a joke!! come on!!! its simple build the face sheild into the top head and hasve it so we can pull it down over the face...duh... or give us a head that we can substitute.. but geez..

And one more thing......Bumblbee has BLUE eyes!!! not red.... comeon Hasbro.. do you really expect me to buy it cause it makes noise, and moves a little bit, and has a few phrases from the movie, in which bumblebee is mute??

I'll Pass on that piece of trash in plastic form... :-x

ion fact I can't stand 1970s Deluxe Bumblebee, his articulation is crap, and I went online and saw they are selling deluxe toys now under "revision 2" which there are minute details about 1970s bumblebee that have been done.. the first run has a black face, the next has silver... and the chest is a little better, but not much.. so if you get the first run deluxe BB its before a revision was made.. be aware!! In my view they need to Revise BB like 20 times till they get him right!

Bottom line on the Ultimate BB, not worth the money and the effort..IMHO!

4:51 to transform it... jeez, I can transform MP Starscream faster than that!

BTW, the arms don't hang down on strings - the door 'wings' hang down on wires. :P

Still its kinda weak if you ask me, it should be a solid piece.. that transforms..not wires..

Look just take the New, revised Deluxe 2007 camaro BB and increase his size, maybe rework some stuff to make him more complex then add sounds and robotics to the mix, and vola!!! a better Bumblebee.. but as is I wouldn't buy this guy..

I like ultimate bumblebee but the thing I dont like is that it makes sounds and moves and I thought thats a little too much for me but if it was like the MP-02 figures I might of saved up my money and bought it

did you all watch the sounds in bot mode? I thought BB was mute? How come his figure talks so much then?
This has me confused, does he only talk in Robot mode? Or is this voice actor just for the toy? cos it's a sucky voice at best.

The problem isn't so much with the toy itself, but the guy in the video.

He's far too impatient and rough with it to really show us what it's fully capable of.

That being said...he's definitely a clearance item. The door construction, etc...too cheesy for $90.00

This is one time I have to admit, the gimmicks *DO* get in the way.

'Tis a shame...he looks great.

Front paged and credited, sorry it took so long - this news day has been nuts.

I was gonna curse this saying that any recent bot with the G1 Tf sound will play it if smacked right.

But as for the bot mode, they could have tightened it up and made hime more posable with the animatronics,

But still, anamatronics on a TF rocks!

Reguardless of looks, cause cavewomen probably looked like cavemen, Here'S To The Future!

I dunno if I'd transform it, but it's interesting video.

The Deluxe looks much much better then the Ultimate. So it has nice details, big deal, theres nothing on the Deluxe 08 Camaro-Bee that a Gundam modeler cant handle

No worries mate. When I logged on this morning I couldn;t believe how much news was on the front page :P Thought I was seeing things.

Personally I'm liking this figure. Didn't realize how big he is though. Can't wait to get him.

One thing. Is it me or does the guy transforming him in the main video look like he's using a lot of force? Just when he's pulling out the arms and doors, he looks like he's about to snap something. Reckon he's in a rush or the figure just has really tight joints?

I just have to ask after reading all this(thank you), what's your take on the price of Cybertron Supreme StarScream?

I know it's a figure past, but to me that guy sucked more than Energon Omega

its cool and all but not worth the 90$ price tag .. It reminds me of those starwars banks they had out a while back.. the ones you would hook 3 togethere and they would fight and stuff.. that collected dust in just about every store they were in.. Ill get one but ill wait for the price to drop and i also agree that the figure don't look like he is transformed correctly, he looks squished like they didnt extend his mid section or something ...

Overall I like him. However I will be waiting until they are on sale. However I think his chest is a little too blocky. I would of liked the option to put his face in battle mode too.

Honestly, what did the posters expect ultimate bumblebee to be? Gigantic transformers are quite often simplistic toys built around an electronics box, and these transformers usually fall short because electronic gimmicks are by nature gimmicks. And for such a gimmicky toy, he's far ahead of his peers.

Take Beast Machines Supreme Cheetor. He's huge, ugly (*far* uglier than Bumblebee, believe me), and built around a smattering of small, unimpressive clawing and firing gimmicks. His biggest sell is, I kid you not, making a hissing noise while the hair on his back stands up.

Supreme Starscream is worse: nearly the same transformation as a Legends class toy, with a few blinky lights thrown in. Even Optimal Optimus has two modes that, quite frankly, suck. It's just really, really hard to make a gigantic transformer that transforms *and* does extra "flashy stuff" that customers expeect from that price range.

Ultimate Bumblebee has *far* better gimmicks and a better balance of transformation, articulation and electronics than any of the toys I named. Problem is, at $90, even that's not enough. I've seen $30 Star Wars animatronic R2-D2/c3p0 banks with more interesting action features and $20 transformers with better transformation and details. Who will actually *buy* this guy?

90 bucks for this... I thought it was self-transforming toy. Guess not.

The transformation for this sucker looks painful with all those panels.

Wow. I knew it'd be a shelf warmer after I first heard about the price but I didn't know it was going to suck quite this terribly. For 90 bucks and with all the hype I figured we might get something like a simplified Robosapien, or, at the very least something as interactive as a Furby. Instead we get something with LEDs and pre-recorded sounds whose shoulder and 'wing' joints wiggle slightly when a song is played. And the voice... WTF? Did they just grab anyone at the office to do it? I wonder how much of the $90 price tag is actually going towards licensing the song 'Whip It'.

I would have, and have, passed on him, the price was too much for a Bot that although had great likeness to the TV series, his articvulation and ultra simplistic transformation made him just an over sized "cheap-quality" expensive ass voyager toy...that said, on clearance for $25.00 I wouldn"t passed him up..
