Which is ironic since the back of Prime's box suggests the gun was supposed to be a standard feature.

Really? Please explain. Do you mean the back of the American box? But I have just noticed the box art has different hands to the actual figure and they haven't folded the exhaust pipes away.

The Prime seen on the back of the American box is a prototype that had a few features removed from the production version. There's the collapsing tires and the folding toolboxes on the legs, but the fuel tanks on the back show lines that match up with the gun on Buster Prime.
